“Perfect Small Hotel in NYC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

My daughter and I spent a long weekend in one of the beautifully remodeled double/double rooms and found our stay to be thoroughly enjoyable. The bedroom and bathroom were very attractive and immaculate and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Extra towels were offered in the evening. We needed an adjustment on our tv and maintenance arrived in a heartbeat with a smile and a fix.
They had just opened a relaxing outdoor patio in the back of the hotel which felt so private and welcoming.
Staying at a smaller hotel really helps offset the fast-paced experience of a big city when a bit of a break is needed. We felt the staff was very much focused on meeting our needs and we were always welcomed back to the hotel with a friendly smile.

Booked into this hotel as we needed a hotel close to transport. It is only a short walk to Grand Central and for those who use the airport hoppy it's only one block away. Rooms are very comfortable and have a small room next to reception that serves coffee etc 24/7. I find it hard to believe that some people gave this hotel negetive reviews, as I we found it so friendly and helpful. With an Irish bar next door and small shop's around the corner there's little that could fault this hotel.

Room Tip: Get your Metro pass at Grand Central and your ready to explore

Nice clean hotel located in a convenient spot close to Grand Central. We booked on Priceline, so weren't sure of the room and a little nervous after reading many of the rooms have shared bathrooms. We were pleasantly relieved to get a full sized room with private bath.
The bathroom was a nice size. I appreciated the free coffee and wi-fi. The staff was very friendly upon arrival and check out. All in all, a nice little place.
Scotty's Diner is right up the street on Lexington - we stopped in twice for breakfast for less than $10/pp for a huge breakfast.

Room Tip: Some rooms have shared baths - check the room type you are booking if this is an issue.

This was my 4th trip to NYC and this was by far the best stay. The hotel staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and a real pleasure to talk to every day with excellent recommendations for local restaurants, transport options etc. The rooms were small - pretty standard for New York but perfectly equipped. I opted for a shared bathroom because of my budget and this was fine, clean and I never had to wait. For £100 a night it was absolutely faultless for it's close proximity to the midtown attractions and standard of the room. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that were a lot worse for a lot more! Perfect for somewhere to lay your head at night and close enough to walk to a lot of attractions.

My fiance and I booked a two night stay in one of the Seton's economy rooms so that we could attend Lion King on Broadway. The staff were both friendly and helpful, and the room itself was cozy. The economy rooms share a bathroom, but it was always spotless. We both felt comfortable taking showers in it. From start to finish, a good experience. Would stay again.

In many respects, the perfect low-ish cost boutique hotel. The upgrade completed two years ago, its 61 rooms are fresh and nicely appointed (though small, they're not outrageously small), WiFi is free and the front-desk folks couldn't be nicer. Grand Central is two blocks; the La Guardia shuttle-bus stop even closer. Breakfast options abound: A fine deli-diner (Bloom's) and a Starbucks are steps away, as are bagelries. Theaters are a bit of a hike, but the Times Square shuttle out of Grand Central eases that. Cost can be cut even further by booking rooms with a shared bath -- a popular option for Europeans, especially. (The two bathrooms per floor are just fine.) The reservation: rooms facing 40th Street get street noise that exceeds the standard, even restful NYC hum, especially when garbage trucks do their pre-dawn business. If that's worrisome, request a room toward the back.

Room Tip: If noise offends you, request a room NOT directly facing 40th Street.

I visited this hotel during a holiday with a friend. We picked the Seton for its price and location. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. We were told about the facilities on offer (not many but we were told) and given the key to our room. The room was large and spotlessly clean. When we went exploring we had no idea how close the hotel was to everything. Grand Central Station was just around the corner, Times Square was 15 minutes on foot and the Empire State Building was 10 minutes away. The room was cleaned every day. I'm not a seasoned traveler by any stretch of the imagination but I loved the convenience of the Seton and I would highly recommend it.
