“Get what you pay for, but good location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

The title says it all. We got a really great price, but the room was tiny. There were two of us (both very small girls), and I can't imagine being any bigger and fitting. I was surprised that having the shared bathroom never presented a wait or a line.
Even though we went when it was 30degrees outside, the room was extremely hot, so we had the AC on whenever we were in there. This was a problem because it was very loud (and often woke me up in the middle of the night). The room was also really dry.
The elevator was definitely not my favorite part, pretty old and kind of scary. I also did not like having to give my key back to the front desk each time we left (though, I suppose I understand why, since they are actual keys, not cards).
All the staff we encountered were very friendly, and seemed to remember us. I think this may have had to do with there not being many other guests, but that was nice so it wasn't loud and we rarely had to wait for the elevator.
The location is GREAT. Very close to convenience stores, restaurants, bars, and Grand Central Station (which was nice for taking the subway to further away tourist areas). Easy walks to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and the Empire State Building. The area seemed nice and safe, and was easy to navigate to.
I would recommend this hotel if you don't plan to be in the room often, and remember to talk a lock for your luggage when you are gone.

This delightful haven offers rather spacious, quiet, not extravagantly priced rooms, close to Broadway, Grand Central, Lords and Taylor, and the Morgan Library. The area is filled with all kinds of eating venues begging to be explored. The staff was unfailingly polite, courteous and helpful. A little caveat: the rather small and slow elevetor. And a morning paper would have been nice with the free coffee.

We stayed here for the New Year's Eve holiday. When we got there we were told that the room I had first booked was not available but they changed us to an updated suite instead. I was skeptical but when we walked into our room it was awesome. It was clean and the size and decor were perfect. The front desk staff were excellent and helped us find our way around and gave us several recommendations. The location was perfect, not too close to the noise but within walking distance to everything. Will choose The Seton Hotel next time I visit. Thanks!

Wonderful hotel, extremely central with everything you require for your stay in New York. Our room was very clean, well equipped with TV and bathroom with shower over the bath. The staff on front desk couldn't have been more helpful, especially when our flights were cancelled due to a heavy snow storm! Excellent service, would highly recommend - the only small downfall during our stay was some building work going on which was at times a little noisy during the day but we were told about this at check-in.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room with it's own bathroom if required - some are shared.

Some friends and I met in Manhattan for a reunion. We wanted somewhere close to all the touristy stuff but away from the craziness that is Times Square. Seton is in a great location! It's easy to get to and in a nice neighborhood just far enough away from the major noise. The place is incredibly clean as well. Best part was the amazing staff; very accommodating and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The shared bathrooms are very nice and clean!

We stayed at the Seton Hotel for 4 nights in October 2012. The double room comfortably accommodated my family (2 adults and 2 kids), the bathroom had all the necessary commodities.
Exceptionally nice and helpful front desk, 2 blocks away from Grand Central, close to everything.
Would definitely stay there again.
