“Great staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We stayed here for one night during a date weekend. My fiance picked the restaurant and booked it for a secret night away, so I was not involved in the planning, as I usually am, and was not able to know all the secrets from researching things before we arrived, but everything went very smoothly.

There is parking across the street. We left our car there for the day and a half we were in town. We were early, and no rooms were available, but the hotel watched our bags while we started day. We were told they would call when a room was available, but never got the call - not that it mattered, we weren't returning 'til after the usual check-in time anyway - but it would have been nice had they followed through.

Got the usual cookies when checking in, and two bottles of water and some granola.

The room was nice and very small (typical for NYC) with a really nice view of the Empire State Building.

The water pressure in the shower was amazing!

The staff was incredibly helpful - we've been to NYC many times, but still need some help with the subway, and the front desk answered all our questions with smiles on their faces. Walk to the subway was short.

We would definitely stay again.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location is great, within walking distance to subways and shopping. The hotel staff was quiet helpful and courteous. It was my birthday weekend and I was brought a lovely piece of cheesecake. The elevators are a tad slow, but one just has to be patient.

I was really disappointed in this hotel. It is quite a hike over to Chelsea-- should not be named as a Chelsea hotel! The rooms are incredibly small; worse then I even imagined after reading the reviews. No place to put your suitcase unless you're willing to leave it on the floor and trip over it all day. I balanced mine precariously on the night stand. The bed is almost on top of the air conditioning unit, so the person sleeping on that side of the bed gets the constant draft in their face as they sleep. We covered half the unit with pillows to eliminate this discomfort. The hallways are claustrophobicly narrow and luggage carts require quite the skill. I thought I knew what a small hotel room was, but this hotel redefines small rooms! Spend and extra $30 and stay elsewhere for some basic comfort!

The room over all was ok, staff was very helpful hotel was very clean and nice looking. The rooms were tiny, this should be noted on the reservation page. Rooms missed couple of essentials even though I knew they wouldn't be in the room such as a mini fridge.

We have been loyal guests at Hilton properties for a number of years. From our early arrival (10:00am) at the Chelsea DoubleTree - even with our desired room still occupied - the staff made us feel like we were their number one priority. The front desk staff were accommodating to all of our requests and questions about the city. The bellman made us feel safe leaving our luggage in storage while we explored the city, and the staff prepared our room. They reached out to us on our cell to notify us when the room became available - allowing us to maximize our NYC experience. The room was spotless and the staff warm (cookies warm too!), friendly and professional as we have come to expect from Hilton. Every member of the staff we encountered at this hotel strived to ensure that our stay was perfect. As we've heard from many - it is a narrow building which results with closer interaction with the staff in this 27 story building, but with the staff at this property - the interactions we had only added to our AWESOME experience. The restaurant experience was not a fast paced - get you out of here, rather it was a relaxing pace. The dining room staff could not have been more attentive to our dining needs. Our Chelsea DoubleTree experience is just one more reason we will be back! THANKS AGAIN Chelsea DoubleTree!

Nice, clean hotel. Decent area. Easy walk to TImes Square, within adequate access of public transportation...ideal proximity to Avenue of the Americas. Hallways are tight, but spacious for NYC. Exercise room is decent. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Great inconspicuous security in the late night, I felt very safe.

There is nothing overly fancy about this hotel which is just fine. A typical NY hotel in room size and amenities but definitely not as small as many hotels in the city. Easy proximity to downtown and subways. Very clean and staff was very courteous. Not too noisy at it is halfway down the block in a very busy part of town. Would definitely stay here again.
