“Traditional Greek Goodness!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013 via mobile

I've been craving grilled calamari for the past 5 years since the first time I had it in New York. While I did have it at the same place Uncle Nick's is so much better!! The calamari, avgolomono, and saganaki-tri are simply mouth watering! Oh & with everything in NY being so expensive, it's nice to see that not every restaurant has decided to gouge their customers. Make sure you ask for a glass of red or white Samos. Soooo good!!

“Yummy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

We went there after checking out the highwalk and we loved it. The food is great and not too expensive. The seafood was fresh and delicious, the side dish wass also nicely spiced. Only negative point is that it was too cold.

“like any other greek place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

Went for lunch—nearly empty when I went in, almost full when I left; looked like business people from area. Had eaten several times at Upper West side location. Kept it simple ordering cup of lemon rice soup ($5) which came in bowl and was excellent. Thick, almost creamy, very lemony, chunks of chicken, some veggies and hot. Lamb souvlaki in pita ($6) was decent sized with enough lamb chunks. Detected no grilled flavor. It was however among the toughest chunks I’ve ever eaten and not necessarily due to cooking. Meat was fresh though. Excessive lettuce, ok with the onions but few tomato slices. There was something trying to look like tzatziki sauce, but it was tasteless. Also given bread and butter (with a sandwich?!). Service OK—had to beg for water, but place was quite busy. Pleasant setting, but would not go back. The many customers here might suggest the food choices are worse elsewhere in the area.

“Great fresh seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Wanted a quick bite before a game at the Garden. Uncle Nick's was perfect. Not crowded at 6 on a Thursday. Octopus appetizer was tender and tasty. Tsatsiki was delicious. Grilled fresh fish was great, as was shrimp kebob. Its not fancy, and its not cheap, but the food was worth it.

“Good Greek food -huge menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

We stuck with soup and gyros for lunch, but the menu looked great. I would have liked to try more, if we had more time in NYC. Two of our group did find time to eat here twice on their longer stay in NYC.
