Work collegue and I booked in March. as per website thought we were getting two rooms at 4 Star standard as per website. Told booking confirmed but had to secure with deposit by paypal. Deposit made immediately but no official confirmation post transaction. Contacted Joumey the 'host' a few days prior to arriving in NY, he e-mailed back to confirm but stated new address to go to. He was not there when we arrived and had to call him. Finally we got in to find it was not finished, not fully refurbished and not 4 star. No linen on beds and had to wait until later that night for keys to be cut for rooms and one lock not working and thus had tradesman there that night to repair. They were NOT 4 Star and far from it. Did not have air-conditioning, fan, light globes in lamps, no phone, no microwave, no towel or clothes hangers in rooms or bathroom, had TV but no connection to power or cable TV connected. One of the rooms on a smoking floor and it stunk! Fresh paint in rooms overwhelming. No breakfast vouchers supplied. Tried to organise meeting for that evening to discuss issues but Joumey never turned up at time he proposed nor phone call from him to advise of delay. At 2300 that night we had to find alternative accommodation. We left, leaving keys under the doors of the rooms and a message on his mobile explaining why we left. We paid a deposit for two 4 Star luxurious rooms and this, we were never provided with. Next day he agreed to another meeting but again, never turned up, nor a phone call. We have e-mailed him since to request refund of deposit but still no phone call or e-mail.
DO NOT BOOK OR PAY DEPOSIT. VERY UNTRUSTWORTHY.
This is not how we now business to be done and have lodged a complaint with the NY Better Business Bureau.
