“Great choice for dinner and cocktails”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

On a recent visit to NYC my partner and I met up with a friend (local) for dinner. She selected Delicatessen for our choice.

Its in a great location, just south of the village. the local area is very funky and this place really suits it well. Great out door seating if you can get it, cool lounge (dance) style music, a varied menu and great cocktail selection.

We sat down and go to ordering. The one thing you MUST TRY are the cheese burger spring roles. Don't judge, just get it!!! I could just eat 3 servings of that!! The other food was also very tasty and did exactly what the menu said it would. Very tasty, hot and full of flavour. Not he best food I have eaten but I would be very happy coming back here in a weekly basis to enjoy a great cocktail and some good food.

All in all we really enjoyed the dinner here. Great cocktails, really nice food with cheeseburger spring rolls to die for and very efficient and friendly service. A restaurant you could enjoy again and again for sure!!

“Upscale "deli"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

I often pass by this place since I work close by and finally made it in to lunch one day.

Because it's always busy, we made lunch reservations and were seated promptly. The place is noisy and it can get really packed.

The menu is more upscale comfort food, complete with a mac and cheese menu. I ordered fish tacos and my friend ordered one of the sandwiches. The fish tacos were good, albeit incredibly small. My friend said the sandwich was really good. The fries here are really excellent. People come in sometimes and order just fries.

The big issue we had though was the service. Although the waitstaff was nice, it was incredibly slow and at one point we thought they had forgotten about us and wouldn't be surprised if we just got up and left without anyone stopping us. We waited forever for our food and forever for a check.

“Delicious and indulgent dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

I dined at Delicatessen with two girlfriends on a hot summer evening. The terrace was open, which enhanced the slick, modern interior. The cuisine is gourmet "American" - from old-time deli favourites, like the Russian sandwich, to new exotic dishes the US has absorbed.

A passion fruit cocktail at the bar, followed by fish tacos, the chef's special of Japanese beef with broccoli and a delicious blueberry sundae for dessert made a wonderful meal.

I could not recommend the restaurant more highly. You get what you pay for!

“Location, check. Food, check. Service, miss.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Food was fresh and inventive. Comfort food kicked up a notch with a Mac and cheese menu. You could eat very healthy choices, or indulge. Skip the omelette with burrata. The promise of charred tomatoes and arugula with the omelette are afterthoughts. The tomatoes served as a garnish and the arugula undressed on the side? The fries are great. Drinks need help. The server was horrible. Not sure if she was new, but said they didn't have English muffins for toast and proceeded to serve eggs Benedict to someone at the table. Duh. We couldn't find her and when we did, she acted like she was doing us a favor. Maybe so more training. Atmosphere is charming with garage doors that open in good weather.
