“Really great design hotel with tons of nice little extras”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

I can only second the great reviews. Excellent designed room with a little sofa and a super-comfortable bed.

Yes, the bathroom is a bit small, but the sink, shower and everything are nicely designed and the water pressure is good. There was no shower gel in my bathroom, only soap, but when I asked with a little note, next day there was.

There is even an international plug adapter in the room, bathrobes, an ipod docking station, minibar. The reception desk is happy to call jazz clubs and restaurants for you to make a reservation and is helpful with personal suggestions that go beyond the usual "Blue Note" and "Cipriani" suggestions heard elsewhere.

Breakfast buffet really good for a buffet included in the price! Bagels, cereals, fruit, yogurt, juice, all there. Free newspaper in the morning, and free Time Out and other magazines.

E-mail with discounted upgrade offer two days before arrival.

My only criticism: I do not think that it is appropriate to charge $10 for wireless for 24 hours. But thanks to the level of design and particularly all these other little extras, for once I am not complaining at all.

Fully recommended! Particularly at that price!

Room Tip: I had a courtyard room, which means you look at a wall from your window. I din't mind as I'm...

Thank you so much for your kind review! One of the nice things about Morgans is that even when the hotel is full (which is very often), it does not feel like it. We do not have crowds coming in and out of the Lobby and the Breakfast Room is so large that it never feels crowded. I am very happy that you found the closet was roomy and you enjoyed using the gym.

I do hope you will return and see us again!

“Unexpectedly good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2012

For a fair price, and in a non descript location, this hotel turned out to be a real gem. Very friendly staff, and for the price and location a decent sized room. Quiet and non trendy, the plusses include a lounge with TV and free coffee so you aren't suck in your room or an overpriced bar, and a good inclusive breakfast.

“Fantastic staff - excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

My husband, teenage son, and I had a spur of the moment long weekend trip to NYC. Of all the possible locations to stay while in the city, I think Morgans is situated very nicely. Yes, I did have to ask the taxi driver if that was really the hotel when we arrived in the rain as it is not marked outside - but it looks just like the pics you see on this site. The hotel is right down from Grand Central Station where you can catch the subway to anywhere you want to go (and my did we love that place - got some bread, cheese, and wine one day at the marketplace and took it back to the hotel in the 4th floor "library" common area. Worked perfect to relax before our broadway show). There are great bars and restaraunts very close. There are a lot of tourist hot spots located very close too. The rooms were great. We had a one bedroom suite and it worked perfectly. When we left for dinner, they came in and made up the couch in the living room with a mattress perfect for my son. Everyone was happy with separate rooms (and more importantly to him - seperate tv's!). The rooms are very modern in feel, the bed very comfy, and yes, the bathroom is small - but I've had so much worse. There was plenty of room for all our stuff and the shower was a good one! Very hip, swanky type atmosphere. The continental breakfast was ok, but in reality with all the food we continuously ate, starting with a huge breakfast probably isn't the smartest thing! There were coffees, juices, cereals (hot and cold), muffins, bagels, sweets, etc. Perfect for us to start the day.
I have to say, the very best thing would have to be the staff. Very friendly, outgoing, accomodating, and helpful. They helped us with every question, directions, and gave excellent recommendations on eating places. The service above all can make or break any hotel experience for me and this was a great one!!!
Excellent experience for our NYC adventure. Morgans couldn't have worked out better!

I absolutely loved your review, especially when I got to the end and read your impressions of our staff. Thank you so much! After all, it is the people we encounter during a trip that we remember most I think.

Also, your tip about Grand Central Station is a good one for readers of this forum.

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review and we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at Morgans!

“Good Hotel in Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

The Morgans wasn't my first choice when booking a hotel in NYC, but I was pleased with the experience. The hotel is small--not unusual in NYC--but has a nice boutique feel and does good things with the space it has.

The lobby staff was very courteous and I felt confident storing my luggage while I waited for a room to open. They allowed me access to the lounge where I was able to use a private lavatory to wash my face and freshen up for a meeting. The lounge also had a very nice array of coffee and teas and plenty of seating for anyone waiting for their room.

Later when my room was ready I was pleased to see it was more spacious than expected. I had a queen size bed with a desk, a closet, and a long, narrow, yet comfortable built-in sofa under the window next to a mini-bar that also had drawers.

The bathroom was the only con to the experience. It was quite small with no counter other than a small shelf on the mirror. The shower stall was clean and water pressure was good, but the space was very tight. No more than 1 person could be in there at once, to be sure.

The halls were dark owing mostly to the charcoal gray decor. This didn't bother me except for once when I was aware of someone else in the hall nearby but unable to really see it.

The continental breakfast was ample and tasty, but i believe the restaurant has closed since I was there so I'm unsure if it's still offered.

I found the bed to be very comfortable and the room was quiet. I was on the 9th floor.

The location was fine--plenty of cabs on Madison and all needed services within a couple of blocks.

I would book this hotel again and recommend it to couples or singles traveling to NYC.

Room Tip: I was high in the middle of the hotel and it was quiet.

Thank you for your review and yes, we do offer our Continental Breakfast. We will soon be updating our restaurant but we will offer it on our Penthouse level - a truly lovely experience during the spring as there will be two terraces to enjoy!

Perhaps we will see you again and you will be able to enjoy your morning coffee with a view of the skyline!
