We didn't know what to expect when we booked reservations at The Casablanca Hotel. After all it is right on Times Square...busy, noisy and the real Las Vega. From the moment we entered the hotel, peace came over me and we were greeted by the most professional, friendly and helpful staff. wow. No pomp and circumstance...just quality service. I ran the NYC Marathon and was desperate for food upon entering the hotel. They arranged room service from the restaurant next door and double checked on me to see that I was doing ok. Understated, simple..although old décor, we found it quite clean and ample. It is an oasis amidst chaos. If you are looking for fancy, uptight and arrogant, don't stay here! If you are looking for great beds, quiet sleeping, helpful and friendly (I mean really sincerely friendly), cleanliness and attention to detail (I swear some of the employees have eyes in the backs of their heads and four ears, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Our room was facing inside, away from the street and it was extremely quiet. We could not hear folk...

Just returned from 4 nights at the Casablanca celebrating my wife's birthday. We will never stay anywhere else if we can stay here. Our expectations were high and they were exceeded. The service is excellent. Rick's Cafe is a gem. I doubt any other hotel this size can match the comfort and quiet of Rick's. If you are in to the theater scene and all that goes with it, stay here.

I must admit to being quite surprised to secure a room at Tripadvisor's number one hotel in New York. We had to take one of the smaller room but in all honesty that was just fine. The key difference is the double bed rather than a King. Staff were always there if needed but never intrusive. The social / eating area is a great idea. Casual and formal seating and the opportunity to take breakfast or graze throughout the day. Located in the heart of the city you could not be better located for exploring this fantastic city. We had to ask very little of the hotel but I am certain that if the cry went out everything would have been done to help.

the hotel is quiet particularly in the back and high up, but even on the front it is quiet for NYC. The staff are friendly. It is nice to be offered free drinks before you go out in the evening and that breakfast and wifi are included. It is not the most glamorous hotel but it is friendly and comfortable - highly recommend. Once suggestion would be they should have beer and cokes available at their free cheese and wine evenings.

Stayed in this hotel in September this year for a week.
First of all, the location is superb. It's a stone's throw from Times Square right in the heart of theater land. You could leave at 7:10 to get to a show starting at 7:30. Really handy for all transportation.

The proximity so close to all the action might lead you to imagine that the rooms and the hotel would be noisy- far from it. The room I had, looked onto an interior courtyard and was really, really quiet. The downside was there was no view to speak of.
The room itself was well-equipped- a reasonable size and an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower were great- and like the rest of the hotel absolutely immaculate. My only quibble was that the toilet seat was a bit on the small side - must have been brought in from an elementary school.

I really loved the cheese and wine from 5-8 in the evening. It was a great way to get to meet people and manned by the friendliest, most helpful people you could ever hope to meet. The staff is definitely a great plus for this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

The breakfast was served in the bar and was probably the only thing I didn't think was worthy of 5 stars. It was fine - a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, croissants, bagels etc but you had to eat it from a low coffee table which I didn't really like and the water for tea was a bit on the tepid side. I'm British - I know we're a bit precious about tea!

All in all I would certainly recommend the hotel - centrality, cleanliness, helpful staff and good facilities more than made up for any minor niggles.

We booked this hotel 6 months before we travelled there for my birthday in September. We booked via bookings.com but then saw that they had deals which were cheaper if booked direct, which gave us restaurant discount and a free bottle of wine. So emailed them and Monika replied. She is THE best! Not only did she make the same booking for us, but when we arrived there was an additional bottle of wine waiting for us. Furthermore, we wanted to book Bouley's Restaurant, but couldn't book online until 2 months before, and then there was no guarantee of a table. No worries! Monika put it in her diary and made the booking for us.
And then there's the breakfast. Tasty, fresh and relaxed, with a good variety of foods. And also a great opportunity to meet the other guests. Another opportunity was every cheese and wine evening, which included sparkling wines too. Luxurious and complimentary.
Then there's the location. Only 100 yds from Times Square, but without being able to hear the hustle and bustle in our room. Fantastic!!
If anyone is looking for a hotel where the staff are friendly, the service is excellent, the location is second to none at a very reasonable price, then look nowhere else (except when every we are travelling, cos we want to get in ourselves). Monika, a personal thank you from me (David from Jersey, UK)

We had the most wonderful stay at the Casablanca. Thank goodness I chose this hotel for our 4 night stay in New York. Although it is situated right in the heart of Times Square and Broadway, it was quiet and so relaxing inside. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was cosy, clean and there was everything provided in the rooms you could ever wish for. The bathroom was really smart and had a luxurious feel to it. The shower was perfect. Towels were replaced regularly and the rooms were kept clean and welcoming throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfast and all day snacks, coffee etc were wonderful and as for the the wine and cheese each evening, well that was something we did not expect. We cannot fault the Casablanca and we really cannot wait to stay there again.

Room Tip: We chose a classic room which overlooked the courtyard which was great but I believe there may be ot...
