“Best small hotel in NYC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Everything about this hotel was about perfect. We arrived early, they stored our bags while we went to nearby Bryant Park where there was a free show of songs from five Broadway shows featuring the actual cast members. Meanwhile, they offered us drinks and snacks in the lounge, which is available 24/7. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout. Our room was decent size (we had an upgraded room), cool, clean and comfortable.

We stayed three nights and found the hotel to be perfectly located, a half block from Times Square (but far enough off to be quieter), and a block in either direction from the different subway lines. Getting to the 9-11 memorial and Yankee Stadium were both a breeze, as was walking shows and good non-chain restaurants. We will stay again....and again.

Room Tip: Ask for or reserve an upgraded room, as we heard some of the regular rooms were a bit small.

The hotel is fairly small and lacks some of the facilities of the larger hotels. However, if your visiting the city what do you need all the extra stuff for, you are not there to play in the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well presented. The breakfast was very relaxed and comfortable. That's all I'm interested in within a hotel. The location could not have been better, out the door, turn right, 20 yards and you're in Times Square. Spot on - unless your are insisting on 5 stars this is the ideal base to explore New York.

Room Tip: The higher the better - to avoid the noise in the street

The staff was first class and the food was good. the hotel is in a perfect position for site seeing and would recommend it to anyone.Love the wine and cheese nights, thought it was very good value for money and could walk to the shows. Close to hop off and hop on bus, shopping, and the complementary wine for our retirement was much appreciated

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor were very quite and comfortable

Great location just off Times Square so accessible but quiet. Staff were great and room and hotel generally are lovely and in perfect condition. More expensive than some but all day refreshments and cheese and wine in evening are all included so good value. Couldn't ask for more.

I was going to NYC and looking for a nice place to stay in this very large city. I was using Expedia. To find a nice hotel. Casablanca showed up and I said "why not." Then when I got there friendly staff greeted me and helped me with my bags. I also enjoyed the awesome breakfast and wine and cheese reception. I loved being so close to times square yet with their ac unit hearing barley anything. I love this hotel and hope that you will stay here on your next trip to NYC.

Room Tip: Any room is good just make sure you have a room with ac.

We stayed at Casablanca for 3 nights to celebrate my 40th birthday. We arrived at 1pm and check in was not until 3pm and unfortunately our room was not ready, but I don't know if hearing the receptionist with slick black hair whispering chocolates and flowers to his colleague had anything to do with it. I couldn't even pretend not to hear as it was so loud and teased my husband. What a shame to spoil the surprise. We left our luggage and headed straight out. Location is excellent. Well located within walking distance to all the key sites.

Our bed was nicely decorated with a bottle of bubbly, chocolates and flowers just as my husband ordered. Our room was cozy and immaculately clean.

Tony's next door was good.

The lounge was comfortable. Service was excellent throughout the hotel.

Deco was nice and subtle.

Peter was exceptionally helpful in providing us with guidance on how to get around with directions to the subway and was kind enough to print me a map to find a particular boutique I was after. Thank you Peter.

We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: High floor

I have been to NY four times now and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in. I am not a fan of Times Square, but you can't argue with its location, very central and convenient. The hotel is extremely comfortable, with fabulous bathrooms and great service. There is something very "civilised" about relaxing with a glass of wine, nibbling on cheese after a busy day, which is of course provided complimentary by the hotel. Breakfasts also good and saves the hassle of finding somewhere to eat. The Italian restaurant next door - Tony's - was lively with gat food. All in all in good experience.

Room Tip: I overheard someone saying they asked o be moved as they found the noise from Times Square intrusive...
