“Room for improvement.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

Pros - good location for shopping and conveniently opposite a grocery/pharmacy. Spacious rooms although the dressing area is not screened from anyone walking past. Helpful in-room dining staff. Next to Tao restaurant. Cons - we arrived at the back entrance and had to wait for a doorman to appear. No ipod/usb docking stations. Poor pressure in the showers and a dated looking drain cover exactly where you need to stand in the shower. Spa leaflet with no treatment info included so I couldn't be bothered to call them. Pillows too soft. No flavour of New York in the decor - all beige with very dim lighting in the corridors - gloomy. Think I will look elsewhere next time.

My home away from home; this epitomizes perfect service. I have stayed here 8 times within the last year and it never disappoints!! The concierge goes above and beyond to help with reservations. Their suggestions are always right in target! A true joy and I look forward being their guest again soon :-)

We spent the Christmas Holiday at the Four Seasons and there is not one thing that we could have improved upon. Everyone was very friendly and always ready to help.

Spacious rooms with a nice wam modern design. Walking distance to all the luxury brands. Enjoyed morning walks at central park which is just around the corner. Breakfast was very enjoyable. Another wonderful experience at Four Seasons.

Back at one of my all time favorite places, NYC FS. I agonized over our hotel selection due to a fantastic corporate rate offered us at Mandarin Oriental. Chose FS due to its perfect location and supreme customer service. No question was one of the most memorable stays ever.

Was warmly greeted by front desk staff, upgraded to a gorgeous room on the 43 floor overlooking park and city and wow, the pampering began. My son was showered with sweets and gifts, my husband and I with champagne and chocolate....then me - I received numerous well wishes, snacks, sweats bag and letter wishing me the best of luck on the marathon. Tday of the run, my soreness and exhaustion quickly vanished when I arrived back at the room and to find more sweets, a congratulatory note and breathtaking sugar creation. Seriously over the top!!

Our family enjoyed every moment at the hotel. We were often requesting information from the concierge and once again they delivered perfect service and recommendations! The concierge are the best in the world...knowledgeable, considerate with flawless professionalism.

We dined at the casual restaurant downstairs and loved the food and service although the prices were extraordinarily high. We also enjoyed breakfast in bed and the food was perfect, service spot-on as requested and the price wasn't seemingly as exhorbitant as the restaurant ??

Housekeeping was discreet, helpful and so friendly! They went above and beyond making certain everything was perfect in our room. They always placed extra water and bath products in our room, ensuring there was enough for the 3 of us.

Thoroughly enjoyed my conversation in the elevator with a very kind man as we chatted about dinner....realized later it was Michael Jordan.... fun!

Highly recommend FSNY to anyone looking to experience a warm, welcoming, home-away-from-home with exceptional service.

Hotel rooms very dated although large for New york. Staff not the friendliest and expensive. Service lacks the personal touch of 5 star hotel. We requested quiet rooms and where put opposite noisy building site, staff didn't care as hotel was full! The staff should be sent to the George V in Paris for training! The Mandarin Oriental is similar money and worth the view. I won't be back

This hotel is the place I always come back to. I’ve tried other chains, hip and/or downtown hotels but the 4 Seasons beats them all. The beautifully decorated and spacious room with a stunning Central Park view and the overall calm in the midst of midtown are the main reasons to come back. But that’s not all: everything oozes luxury and makes me feel welcome. If you’re lucky the doorman arranges a Maybach for transportation. The gym is large enough to do a serious workout and has warm and luxurious dressing rooms. Even housekeeping is very professional. Once I occasionally left a small amount of money on the credenza. When I returned the cleaning lady was servicing the room with a security man standing in the entrance to the room. As they explained this is hotel policy because I left the money up for grabs. In my opinion that’s very professional.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Room Tip: Rooms with Central Park view, are worth the extra $$$
