Where do I begin? First of all when we got to NYC, the parking garage for this hotel was full so we had to find another one two blocks away, which meant we had to carry our luggage through the busy New York streets.
Then we waited 1/2 hour to check in because they only had 1 person working the desk and we could barely hear because the bar is right next to reception with no separation between the two and the music was so loud!
Then we got to our room which was pretty gross...the carpet was worn and stained, the shower had black mold, the thermostat did not work (could only turn on the air not heat), I questioned how much cleaning the maids actually do, and the wifi is not free (they charge over $10 for 24hrs)!
The first night there we did not get in until late and we slept fine but the second night we stayed we wanted to get to sleep early so we could get up early and enjoy our last day in the city, but we could not sleep because our room was directly above the bar & the music was so loud we could hear every word the DJ said. We went downstairs around 1am and spoke to one of the security guard/bouncers at the door of the bar and asked him to have them turn it down. Nothing happened. So, at about 2 am we called the front desk and complained to them about the volume of the music and again they did nothing! We were finally able to fall asleep at around 3am, which was due to exhaustion and not the fact that the music stopped or was turned down.
When we went to check out the next day we asked to speak to the Manager, we explained that we did not think we should have to pay for our 2nd night due to the fact that we could not sleep because of their bar and the music. She told us to leave our phone number and email and that the general manager would contact us about a refund once she came in. It has been two days and we still have not heard from anyone at this hotel! The one and only good thing about this hotel is location but that is not even worth it! We will never recommend or stay at this hotel ever again! This made our first visit to New York a very disappointing one!
If you chose to stay here...GOOD LUCK. Just make sure you bring flip flops for the shower, slippers to walk on the carpet, and earplugs if you are on the 3rd floor (directly above the 2nd floor where the bar is located). The pictures on these sites are nothing like how the hotel actually looks, don't be deceived! Anyone who responds with good comments about this hotel other than location is lying and probably works for the hotel!
