Stayed here for 5 nights with my son in march. Hotel not cleanest I've stayed in but location wise for sightseeing very good. Stayed in Waldorf Astoria and intercontinental before and there is no comparison they are far superior in quality and cleanliness. Rooms at Time very small but fine as a base. Staff not as friendly as in other hotels but as usual u get what u pay for. My son at 18 loved this hotel as modern and central. Rooms just in need of tidy up paying attention to detail. Roll on next trip to New York.

We stayed at The Time for three nights in December. Our small group had two rooms, consisting of a one bedroom suite and a standard room. After reading many reviews before committing to this hotel we were expecting tiny accommodations, but we were pleasently surprised. The suite was very clean, with great water pressure in the shower. The fold out sofa was made with clean linen but the mattress had seen better days and would possibly give a very uncomfortable sleep for
Any one over 45kgs. Staff at the hotel were very friendly, and wonderfully helpfull but we actually didn't see a doorman until our last day so can't really comment on his effectivenes.All facilities - TV's, coffee machine, hairdryer,fridge,safe were in good working order for our entire stay.
The Time is all about the location, most major tourist attractions are within walking distance. We didn't use the bar or restaurant as this was our first visit to NYC and we were too busy racing around the city like the crazy tourists we are.

My sister and I spent 10 nights in NYC staying at The Time and couldn't have asked for a better hotel and location. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, especially for the New Year period. Although the room we stayed in was quite small you don't go to NYC to stay inside all day and it still offered us with a comfy queen size bed, television, mini bar, dresser and mirror, large wardrobe and a bathroom with shower/bath, toilet and decent sized basin.
We were in walking distance to many of the major sights NYC has to offer including Times Square, many of the Broadway theatres (less than 2 mins) the NY public Library (7min), Grand Central Station, 5th Avenue, Rockerfeller Centre, (10min) Central Park (15min) and 2 other subway stations (less than 5 min). For a first time visit in NYC you cannot ask for a better location.
The bar at the hotel offered us amazing cocktails and fine finger food for reasonable prices although being in the hub of NYC we never stayed at the bar for long. There are plenty of terrific restaurants around the hotel or else just a short cab ride away (never no more expensive than $15). The restaurant on the floor level offered an affordable and fulfilling breakfast for those mornings when we had an early start and staff were always timely and friendly.
Overall I would quite happily recommend this hotel to others, especially those wanting to travel around the Christmas/New Year period as the New Years in Times Square is literally around the corner!!

My partner and I went to New York last summer for 5 nights. Having done some research on various hotels and read numerous reviews, we found The Time at very reasonable rates and went ahead and booked. The location was a big factor for our decision, as well as the price, although we were initially concerned about the size of the rooms, as a lot of reviews had commented on this.

Upon arriving, we weren't really paying attention in the taxi from the airport, so when we first stepped outside the hotel and walked to the end of the street, we were shocked to find how close we were to times square, it was literally less than a 30 second walk.

The hotel itself was very good for the price which we paid. We were greeted by the doorman when getting out of the taxi, and met by pleasant staff in the reception area. We were given the key to our room, which I think was on the 14th floor. Entering the room, it was as expected; small. However it was no where near as small as other reviews had made out and we found it to have plenty of room to meet our needs. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious and extremely modern.

The initial problem we had in our room was to do with our safe not working, but we rang reception and they were up in no time at all. We did have continued problems with the safe, but the staff were extremely happy to try and sort the problem, which they did.

I really couldn't find any faults with this hotel at all. For the price we paid we didn't expect a lot, but we were very pleasantly surprised by everything; from the location to the staff and the rooms.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not think twice about staying here again. In fact, I probably will be returning to New York in the summer and will be staying here again.
