“Clean, comfortable and convenient.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Expensive! However, it is New York and one block from central park. I love the location. The room was a decent size, very clean and well appointed. The cost was more than $900.00 per night. Bathroom had all the comforts, heated towel racks, plenty of space and a tv. I would stay again.

Everything about this hotel is top quality. From the rooms décor, facilities and staff who are excellent and committed. Free bicycle and hotel car (when available and on a first come first served basis) ad something to the stay, at a price of course.
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
We did not try the restaurant but the bar was fun (noisy and expensive).

extremely comfortable upper East Side Chic. Since the Renovation a few years ago they have really made the room super comfortable albeit a bit hip. The restaurant by Jean George is better for dinner than the other meals. The day time servers all seem to be looking at themselves in the mirror more than at the tables. Dinner however is superb crowded with "beautiful people" all noisy and texting. Doesn't any one have a meal without their smart phone anymore? All in all one of the best in NY - It probably helps that their staff are not part of the hotel union.

First time at this lovely hotel,I stay in NYC often and have tried many others, but this is a real gem . Keep it quiet!!!
I will without a doubt stay here next time.
The hotel is in a wonderful quiet location yet at the same time so handy for the many museums on the upper east side as well as it being a real Ny neighborhood.

As this speicific weekend in NYC we were planning on visiting the Metropolitan Museum and spend time with the grandchildren in Central Park, our choice was The Mark on the upper east side instead of a hotel in midtown. We did not regret it, although there was some more street noise to put up with because of some road work on Madison. I don't think a room on a higher floor would have helped in this case. Very friendly saff, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. We had dinner and lunch several times at Jean Georges restaurant, besides breakfast. Good service, excellent food, we were never dissappointed. Only detail, strange for us, at the bar they do not serve alcoholic drinks before 12am on Sundays! As we did not want to wait 15' for a drink, a tonic water without gin did the job. We will certainly return.

My third visit was as satisfying as my first (which was extraordinary). I always fear that when I have a perfect hotel experience, I don't want to return and 'ruin' the first impression. But my third visit last week was as perfect as my first. The staff is key in making this hotel work and they are professional and warm. The facility is beautiful and the neighborhood is perfect. I love the housekeeping team's efforts (the room was always perfect) and it is my favorite hotel bathroom in the city (the best water pressure in the showers). It is important enough to me to be noting it here. I will continue to select The Mark for my New York business meetings.
