“Beautiful building, beautiful works of art”

THe building itself is a surprise - especially given it is located right on Fifth Avenue.
That art collection is a must see.

“Favorite museum, plus a fabulous show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

I've always loved the Frick, and the Maurietshuis show was the icing on the cake. So wonderful to see Girl With a Pearl Earring and The Goldfinch up close. A perfect part of a perfect day.

The mansion, it's history and the art collection are fabulous. The staff are knowledgeable and are eager to answer questions. I would visit again.

“An Unforgettable Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Just across from Central Park, you can imagine the life of the Frick family back in the day when money was no object, and the world was their oyster. What I love about this collection is how personal the rooms are and they just happen to be filled with old masterpieces by the likes of Renoir, Rembrant, Vermeer, Turner, Constable and the many others that "spoke" to the collector. Many of the works seem sentimental, maybe souvenirs from time spent abroad. Take note of the exceptional upholstered chairs and sofas in the rooms. Some of the embroidery on these pieces rival the wall hung art. If you visit first thing Sunday 11:00 - 1:00, admission is pay what you want. Be prepared to line up.

“Traveled to NYC just to see Vermeer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Beautiful art! Pre-purchase tickets as the lines go around the block if you don't buy ahead. Very crowded, but well worth the wait to see the wonderful Vermeers and all of the other art at this museum.
