“Sad reminder”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

This is the site of ground zero and is a sad reminder to all of the horrific events of that Sept. day. Names of the fallen and the heroes are remembered in the footprints of the twin towers.

“Very moving”

Wow...this place is incredible, and very sad. They do an amazing job of pulling testimonies and events together to give an accurate and moving depiction of this tragedy.

“Worth It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

I had the opportunity to visit while in Brooklyn. Although the memorial isn't finished yet, it was worth it. The pools where the towers once were are spectacular! The names of victims are etched into the sides of the pools and you can locate names similarly to that of the Vietnam Memorial. The gift shop had more than just t-shirts. There was a timeline of events on the wall, video paying, and other artifacts to view.

One of the things that touched me most was hearing parents explain the events of 9/11 to their children who were not even alive at the time.

“Emotional Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

The stories, symbols, and pictures of this day bring back the reality that there are so many that think about this day everyday and will forever be changed by this tragic day. I was especially touched as a mother was trying to explain to her young son who was not born yet when this happened what all of the pictures and stories meant. She got visibly emotional as she tried to answer all of his questions.

“Never Forget”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I visited the Tribute Center with my husband and our three children ages 14, 11, and 9. I was nervous that it would be too much for them, but the necessity of needing them to know this peice of history pulled us there. It was a wonderful place to visit, and appropriate for children of their age. There are artifacts and videos of the towers and the people who worked there. Their is one video that shows the attacks and the aftermath but it is handled well and really focuses on the aftermath - the amazing show of solidarity and support. And there are wonderful pictures of the vicitms so that their faces may always be remembered. My children have heard bits about 9/11 at school and we have talked about it at home, but I was saddened to learn from someone working at the Tribute Center that the 9/11 attacks are not part of most public school's history curriculum in the US - it isn't even part of NYC school curriculum! It is optional for the teacher to bring it up. We must make sure the next generation know this story of sadness, of courage, of perseverance and grace by those who have carried on. The Tribute Center does a lovely job keeping the memory of those who were so needlessly killed on that beautiful Septamber morning alive. I highly recommend visiting the Tribute Center.
