“Good find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Busy place. Waited in line for about 20 minutes - all of those NY'ers couldn't be wrong. This place is great. Had fresh squeezed OJ (they write the date and time that it is squeezed on the cup) and a pumpernickel bagel with regular cream cheese and "pastrami" salmon. Bagel was perfect, cream cheese rich, and salmon was out of this world. It was definitely worth the wait in line. Bagel with salmon was $10 but it was huge and filled me up for the rest of the day.

“Of all the Bagel Joints in all of Manhattan, why Zucker’s? It’s all about the fish.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

Arrived early by Amtrak with tickets to the 9-11 Memorial. Needed a nosh enroute, so stashed luggage at Penn Station and took the Subway (1) toward South Ferry exiting at Chambers St. and walking about a half block to Zucker’s. Might have missed it had there not been a sandwich board on the sidewalk announcing their daily specials. Don’t let its unpretentious exterior and small seating area fool you. The bagels are made in-house and are tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside, providing the perfect pallet for piling on their wide variety of schmears and salads and about a dozen different types of salmon. Ordered my favorite whitefish, and was thoughtfully reminded of the bones; was offered whitefish salad as a bone-free alternative if I would prefer. It was homemade so what the heck, I went for it on a pumpernickel bagel. The whitefish salad was smooth, rich, and smokey, and the dark, flavorful bagel provided eye- as well as taste-appeal. My husband ordered “The Traditional” Nova, red onion, capers, tomatoes and a plain schmear on a poppy seed bagel – quite a mouthful, utterly delicious, and not a stray poppy seed was left behind. Oh, and the coffee was good too. Its menu, quality product, and ease of access from Penn Station will make Zucker’s a destination on our Manhattan visits.

“Loved the onion bagel; but not the coffee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

I ate the breakfast bagel set @ $3.55. The onion bagel was really fragrant with a generous spread of cream cheese. I did not really enjoy the coffee though - it made my tummy feel funny after drinking it.
I was there in the morning around 7.30am and there wasn't a crowd/queue.

“Bagels are great - fish, pretty good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

Nice chewy, crusty, toothsome bagels served with a variety of smoked fish. The sable isn't quite to the level of Russ and Daughters, and is a little undersalted, but still quite delicious. Service is brusque, but relatively efficient. Get in line, bark your order, and get out. By the way, it is small in here, so leave your Maclaren stroller outside, or fold it up.

“Good bagel near World Trade”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

We got bagels here and eat them in a park near the World Trade center memorial. The bagels were great. I would eat bagels here often if I lived in NYC.
