“Pleasant surprise in the heart of Little Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

You'll love this little hole in the wall in the heart of New York's Little Italy serving amazing burgers, gourmet salads and outstanding pasta in a relaxed atmosphere.

You'll be better off if you go at off-peak hours, otherwise you may have to wait some time to be seated, since the place is probably no bigger than your home's dining room: five small tables accomodate patrons, who sometimes gladly share them with strangers to make room for everybody.

While the place is better known for its burgers, my wife and I were in the mood for pasta. Ruby's didn't disappoint. I had the chicken pesto pasta, which was excellent: al dente with the right ingredients mixed in the right proportion to make the classic pesto sauce. My wife's rigattoni in creamy chicken sauce was equally fantastic.

For beverages you can order beer or wine, which is served in unpretentious small regular glasses. We didn't order dessert but what our neighbors were eating looked mouth watering.

We were absolutely delighted by this place and will definitely come back when we visit NY again.

If you come just remember to bring cash since they don't accept credit cards.

“coolest hole-in-the-wall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

we stumbled in here looking for an inspiring place for brunch ... we weren't disappointed. cool looking Aussie dude was serving and was very personable but gave us space. atmosphere was busy, cozy and fun. cool 60's beach tunes and Beatles played in background while we enjoyed some wonderfully prepared brekie and fresh juice. and they accomodated the kids (9 and 5) no prob. brilliant spot ... don't miss it.

“tiny place, great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

This is a VERY tiny place with great food just north of little italy on mulberry street. The bronte burger is huge and my son declared it deliscious. I had the pasta with prosciutto and asparagus that was wonderful. There is only room for about 12 people in this restaurant, but the staff is pleasant and it is fun to watch the people stroll by.
