“Yummy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Wonderful senior menu with lots of choices. We had the veal parm which included drink. Waitress did a great job, while everyone was very friendly. They even provided a wonderful chocolate cake and ice cream birthday desert. Great choice

“Average food but interesting place.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We got here at 7:30pm and they were already closing down..... seems everything closes by 7 or 8pm in this town! The staff and our waitress were very friendly and pleasant, the place busy and the service quick - unfortunately the food is nothing special (except this is probably Good Food for this town....).

I ordered the 1/2 pound Angus burger which consisted of 2 1/4 pound patties cooked to death (is that medium?) with a puny side salad. Price was decent but just a step above fast-food in a more comfortable setting. At 7:40 they were mopping the floor and putting the chairs upside down on the nearby tables.... so much for atmosphere.... fortunately two more diners walked in at 7:45 and now seemed to be the object of the staff's scorn for keeping them late...

Probably one of the tastier places here, but not by outside standards - then again, we came here for the Caves, not the food!

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

Don't miss this place. It is a great spot to eat in Carlsbad. The service is fast and the food is excellent. I had a lunch special that consisted of a cup of homemade soup, pasta and a meatball with bread for under $7.00! I will definitely eat here again when in Carlsbad.

“Best chef in Carlsbad!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012 via mobile

My wife and i eat here every once in awhile. She loves prime rib and i love blackened catfish! The soups are the best i have ever had.it is family dining but the chef is carlsbads best kept secret. Odd hours make it difficult to plan around but definitely worth a stop when you see it open!

“Good food - reasonable prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Hard to get into the small parking area, but the diner is pleasant and the food tasty. Senior citizen's menu starts at age 55, same food but smaller portions (and price). Appreciated.
