“Great place for the price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

I usually stay at B & B's but sometimes in my trips I'll break the drive and stay here at the Mountain Inn at Flat Rock. What a nice clean motel with a reasonable price. You can even get a suite with comfortable couch, mini fridge and microwave for a little extra. Also has a decent breakfast in the morning. Nearby is Zaxbys and Cracker Barrel if you don't want to go far for a meal.. I'll continue to stay here and not at the nearby Holiday Inn and Mountain Lodge where I have also stayed and not enjoyed as much. Also they are pet friendly!!! Now I don't have a dog but was glad to learn this.

Room Tip: I enjoyed the King suite with a little more room and comfort!!!

The Mountain Inn & Suites in Flat Rock, NC is very clean, very comfortable, reasonably priced and the staff is courteous and helpful. Our one night impromptu stay was pleasant and refreshing. When we’re in the Flat Rock area again we will definitely be staying at the Mountain Inn & Suites.

We took a trip through the mountains of GA and NC. We stayed at the Mountain Inn on July 29th for one night with our dog. This hotel is owned by a family and they are very nice and accommodating. The rooms are clean and crisp and the staff is willing to go the extra mile. We only wish this were a chain! Will return.

Hotels are starting to catch on to the need to define what suite means. Is it a large room with a bed, a sofa, a microwave, and a minifrig? Or is it like a small apartment with a living area including a small kitchen plus a bedroom with a door separating the bedroom? Mountain Inn & Suites identifies their suites as a separate bedroom. In some ways that is true. The bedroom is divided off from the living area, but there is no dividing door. Privacy is somewhat limited, but we could listen to televisions in both areas without interference. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We ended up with a minor car emergency, and the front desk staff directed us to an excellent mechanic. Breakfasts were good. The seating is limited and somewhat makeshift, not like some larger chains with small tables and nice chairs. Location was fine for accessing Asheville, dining out, and exploring local sights. BTW, there is not a pool at this inn.

We had to travel to Flat Rock, NC, recently and needed a place to stay. I found a lot of mixed reviews of other "chain" motels, in the area.
Mountain Inn & Suites is privately own and that was part of the reason I decided to stay there.
This was a very pleasant experience.
Beautiful facility, clean rooms (and bathroom), and the hot breakfast buffet was more than enough to skip eating out somewhere.
We will be staying there again, when we return, next month.
We encountered Chris, Stephanie, and have since spoken to Tiffany. All were tops!

Room Tip: Check out the specials tab on their website. This was a great deal!

I paid $120.00 for a room at his hotel and unfortunately I did not stay in a room worth $120.00. Yes I will admit that it is a nice property for it's age and the Staff is very friendly, but it's not worth $120.00 per night. Maybe $75.00 to $80.00 per night. Room was very clean but very dark. I don't think it is was a great idea to paint every wall in the room in a dark brown. At this price you would expect a flat screen TV instead of a 20 year old Zenith with a greenish tint to it.
