My wife and I stayed at the SkyRidge Inn on 3 October to break a long journey from Bryce Canyon to Aspen.
SkyRidge Inn is a superb bed and breakfast!
It is located a couple of miles east of Torrey in an elivated position a couple of hundred yards from highway 24. The property looks rather plain from the outside but the interior is beautifully decorated and furnished in contempory south western style.
We stayed in the "Juniper" room; a good sized room with a Queen bed, tastefully furnished and decorated with everything you could need, even a small music system. The bathroom was superb, complete with a two-person whirlpool bath. The room has several tall windows and a door opening onto a small private deck. The room also faces due east . . . . . perfect for watching the sunrise from your bed!
At 5pm the owners serve hors d'oeuvres and drinks (Sangria & soft drinks) in the lounge. A nice touch and very tastey indeed!
Breakfast is at 08.30. Ours consisted of fruit juices, coffee, tea of hot chocolate. A ramekin of egg &, I think, potato topped with cheese, also on the plate was cinnamon toast on a bed of pineapple topped with cream. We didn't get any of SkyRidge's "renowned" granola though!
I can highly recommend "Skyridge", and we would certainly stay here again.
We ate at the Rim Rock restaurant, a few miles further east along the road, but wished we hadn't, it was the worst meal we had in our three week holiday. My wife had blackened steak and I had the chicken with a "mole" (whatever that is) of 50 ingredients. We asked if these meals would be spicy, the waitress said , "No". We found both meals to be extremely spicy!! We now wished we had eaten at Cafe Diablo, a Torrey institution.
