“One of the nicest RV parks on our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2009

This was our first night's stay in our rented RV. The reservation process was easy and the woman I spoke with was very friendly. We arrived late and our reservation was waiting for us. At night it was hard to tell what things looked like, but in the morning we were pleasantly surprised with the natural beauty around us. The location is great and the parking spots were easy to use. The bathrooms were very clean. Another reviewer commented on Wi-Fi access - we had no trouble at all. Quick and easy to connect. That must have been a fluke. We wished we stayed there longer.

We arrived at this RV park knowing we would have water and electric because full hook-ujps were not available because of some event going on in town. We backed into our site and found that if we had put our awning out, it would encroach on the adjoining site. Admittedly, I am an internet junky. The Wi-Fi was so incredibly slow. Then, it stopped working altogether. This went on for over two days. I then went to the office to complain about the wi-fi. I was told that it is slow and the campgroujnd is full. If I want fast, I should go down to the Texaco and use theirs. Otherwise, I should sit in the parking lot at the camp store for better reception. Then, I was told that we were placed in an overflow area and our invoice states that. I went back to the campsite and checked out my invoice and the camp map. I am not in the overflow area. They told me that I whould complain to the owners. Trailer Life Directory gives this campground a pretty good rating. So far as I am concerned, the rating is too high. Additionally, the laundromat is filthy.

We stayed in this cute little RV Park near Bryce NP and near Kodachrome State Park. The wind and sand got to be too much for us at the campground so we headed to Thousand Lakes - sight unseen.
What a great surprise for us. We stayed in a Deluxe cabin. The cabins have fire pits in the back, grills and nice green grass in the middle of the desert.
The accomodations are basic, but a greait reprieve from the dirty camping we experienced. Clean. Friendly.
The gift shop should not be missed for its great Navajo and other unusual jewlery. The owner had just returned from her trip out buying the jewlery so the pickins' were great. Cheaper than the other shops on the Main Street of Torrey.
P.S. Torrey is a great place for burgers (Slacker Burgers) and art galleries! Who knew!

We have stayed here many times while exploring the Burr Trail. We usually rent one of the basic cabins. The staff here is always helpful and friendly. I always have a blast in Torrey and Thousand Lakes is a great place to stay. Plus its close to Cafe Diablo, a walk down the highway. Great food near by and a beautiful surroundings make Thousand Lakes my favorite place to visit.

Community bathrooms are always clean. The cabins even have fire rings and bbq's in front to bring the camping experience to you. We will be going back this spring.

Thousand Lakes is one of our favorite campgrounds in the United States. It's in a spectacular location in a quiet valley with mountains to the south and a prominent outcropping of red rock cliffs just to the north. The sunsets were among the most beautiful we've seen anywhere - the cliffs really glow. The campground owners are very friendly and helpful and are continually working on improvements and upgrades. Try the homemade muffins they bake every morning! There are plenty of large pull-through spaces, but the back-ins on the north edge offer the best views.
