Due to remnants of hurricane rain passing through the region, our camping trip had to be re-routed to indoor accommodations for a couple of nights. We reserved a camping cabin at Thousand Lakes RV Park. We chose the property due to its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park, pet-friendliness and the inexpensive price of the cabin ($35 and heated!).
Upon arrival, we were very impressed with the property, and its scenic location at the far edge of town. The red rock view behind the park was beautiful! Within the park: Great big grassy lawn, pool (clean and cute, but too cold to use), well-stocked store. Everything was well-kept and orderly. The staff was very friendly and cheerful. The restrooms and showers were very tidy, and the cabin's bed arrangements (Cabin #1) were much better than other camping cabins we've stayed in, which generally have one full size bed and two small bunk beds-- that arrangement always leaves one of us on a tiny bunk while the other has a bigger (but not quite big enough for 2) bed. At Thousand Lakes, our handsome, rough-hewn cabin had two "small queen" beds, so my husband and I both got our own big comfy beds.
There was an Airstream rally staying at the park during our visit, and we were surrounded by an awesome array of aluminum trailers. Really fun + really nice folks.

Shaded porch, fire pit and picnic table out front. We cooked our meals on the porch and ate at the picnic table, weather-permitting. They did have a dining area, serving dinner at different seating times, all-inclusive menu with dessert and beverage, but it was a bit pricey for our budget so we didn't participate.
We really loved our camping cabin- so much so that when the sun came out and we packed up our gear to head off into the wilds, we felt a bit sad to leave!
One minor issue: within the cabin, there was a large wall cabinet, up high on the wall, and locked. I do not know what it contained, perhaps cleaning supplies? But it took up a lot of room that could have been maybe used as a place to organize guests' gear and supplies? Some wall hooks, and a bedside table, a small shelf, dining table and some chairs, but no cabinets for us to use.
Torrey is a lovely little, historic town, and Capitol Reef was a very short drive away along Highway 24. Thousand Lakes RV Park, we will be back some day!More
