“What a lovely place to Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

What a great Lunch Today at Winslow's, we had made a reservation and our table was ready and waiting. Our waiter was very patient with a large group that had trouble deciding, he was attentive throughout and when the meals came out, other staff assisted so that you felt the meals were coming out quickly but not in a frantic way.

The perfect restaurant for a leisurely lunch, and a great choice for a group with many different menu requirements. Wonderful clam chowder, a bit of a departure from the rest of the restaurants in town, with a bit more flavour and lovely roasted corn.
The Scallop Crudo looked amazing as did the Lump crab cakes, I will need to try those on my next visit. A really interesting menu.
Presentation was great especially of the chocolate mousse dessert, with flowers and sauce. I had the lobster BLT, delicious with prosciutto, and a nice side side salad. Everyone's meals looked great and everyone enjoyed them!

Winslow's garden is lovely, and the building is very well kept up, it feels fresh and charming.

Very accommodating, it did not throw them to put our check on many different credit cards.

We will be back!

“very upmarket for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014 via mobile

We had a really great meal, ww were seated in a sort of private dining room which felt very exclusive.
The evening was spoiled by a service charge being applied although we were only 6 people. Apparently the terms had recently changed from being based on 8 people. Bad mistake not to communicate this clearly on web site and menus. 18% uplift if not trivial.

Do not be put off by this, because everything else was genuinely perfect.

“Winslow lunch review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

What a perfect little place for a late lunch. It showered briefly coming off the beach not too far away and we elected to sit inside. But the folks already on the patio all stayed put and didn't seem disrupted at all. I had the salad nicoise and she had the broiled calamari special app and we split the lobster pizza special. All were excellent and the service was so easy and friendly. We wanted to go back for dinner but were stuck in Orleans the next night so will have to make it another time. The outdoor seating is very spacious and green. Possibly the best setting for outdoor dining I can remember so we would do that the next time too.

“Better choices for food, good place for a drink”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

In Wellfleet center, Winslow's is right next to the public parking area. The upstairs bar or outside cafe is a great place to have a drink on a summer evening, but the food was disappointing. Nice atmosphere in the dining room but there are better food serving choices in Wellfleet.

“denied available seating”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

The hostess this evening was rude and dismissive. We have been summer residents of Wellfleet for 28 years, and we have eaten at Winslow's many times. After our experience this evening we will be reluctant to return.
We arrived for dinner tonight at 5:30 looking forward to eating on the lawn above Main Street. There were many open tables. Five tables were open closest to the street. The hostess led us to a table farthest from the street in a tucked away corner. I asked if we could be seated near the street. She curtly responded that those were for parties of four. Two more couples arrived after us and were seated in more central locations. We left quietly and highly offended. I have eaten at Winslow's every summer season many times with only one other guest. I have never been denied a table in the front before. We noticed that none of the tables in the front nearest the street are for two guests. If the management will not allow a couple to sit at a table for four, perhaps they need to make tables for two available. I can only wonder how a patron would be treated if they attempted to eat alone. Would they be told there are no tables for one? Regardless, the hostess needs training in how to treat customers respectfully and how to make them feel welcome. There are many other excellent choices for dining in Wellfleet in the summer.
