“Best Bakery and Bistro in Wellfleet!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We found this bakery ( and attendant bistro dining rooms) in Wellfleet and visited daily for baked goods to enjoy with our breakfast at our hotel. Pastries, croissants and breads are prepared in classical fashion. Fresh fruit tarts and pastries were "to die for" and the croissants matched the best we ever had in France. No kidding. This is a must see for discriminating folks who want the very best .

Although we did not stop in for lunch or dinner at the dining room, we noted that it was very busy and when we asked we were advised to reserve our table if we wanted to dine in the evening.

“Lost some of their excellence”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We are reliable off-season patrons at PB's and the Bistro has been my favorite outer-Cape place since it opened. We tried to add 2 friends to our reservation 7 hours in advance, but were told they were booked solidly. Yet, during the entirety of the two hours during which we dined, three empty tables which could have accommodated our larger party remained suspiciously empty. However, last night's visit was troubling on a more substantial points: 1)Both my husband and I suffered from severe stomach upset a few hours after dinner, which could possibly be attributed to the salmon tartare. 2)My adult daughter explained to her server that she had severe nut allergies and was subsequently served foods with nuts -twice. I caught the first item before she put it in her mouth but we all missed the second until after her immediate onset of significant symptoms. We were "comped" a cup of coffee to atone for this mistake. 3)Finally, the wine list full of reasonably priced French gems has always been unique and enjoyable. What a shame that no French wines were featured in the prix-fixe dinner paired w/ wines, alas the wine pairings were a Mauritson SB with the Salmon (worked well) and an Oregon Pinot which was far too bright for the rich beef -filled Shepard's Pie. A bit sad..... Please, please let this just be an "off" night for this usually delightful restaurant.

“Excellent Bakery - Huge Lines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

I did not try the restaurant, but the bakery is excellent. Unfortunately the lines are huge. It closes on Monday.

“Delightful patisserie, 4000 miles west of Paris.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

The PB Boulangerie is two places in one. Early in the day, you might as well be in Paris as you choose delicious and beautiful pastries and breads for your breakfast. It smells just as if you were on Boulevard St. Germain. In the evening, the bistro comes to the fore with very nice meals. This trip, we only did breakfast, but that is only because we didn't have enough time for a dinner. It is always nicely prepared and served. A must visit when you are on this part of the Cape.
