“There's a reason there is a line!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

For those of you who won't stand in line or complain about a 15 minute wait for a table, you're not worthy! Hello, it's summertime on Cape Cod. You are not alone, look around.
This fine establishment is the best place to eat on Cape Cod hands down.
Don't bother going anywhere else for your baked goods. The bread and pastries are sublime.
The food quality is the same or even higher than most two-star restaurants in France.
You've largely missed out if you don't stop or even go out of your way to dine here in Wellfleet.
Be reminded this is a bistro atmosphere, not a hushed velvet gloved affair.
Reserve well in advance if you plan to go in July or August. You won't be disappointed.
If you are, then quick get on a plane to France instead.
But it's definitely worth the wait on this side of the Atlantic. Bon appetit!

“Friendly bakery/bistro with authentic fare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

My wife (who's French) and I regularly come here when we're staying in Wellfleet. They have great pastries - the apple tarte is particularly good - and the bread could come from a true Parisian bakery, not too surprising given that the owner/head baker is French, as are several members of the staff.
Very friendly service, and if you're up for it you can practice your high school French.
The Bistro opens at 5 with table service. Up until, you order at the bakery and bring your food to the terrasse which is first come first seated.
The sandwiches are very good and surprisingly generous.

“Great for light breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We came here for a light breakfast, ordered the quiche loraine, which was excellent, and had a few pastries, which were very good, better than many places in the area.

“The viennoiserie was excellent.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

I only tried two things here. I bought a box of breakfast pastries for a group and all the classics were well executed. Croissant, Pain aux Chocolate, Pain aux Raisins, Croissant aux Almonds were all as they should be. The coffee was fine, nothing exceptional. I returned for a sandwich for a road trip a few days later and could not find fault with their turkey on a baguette. I would recommend the place for breakfast without reservation and would consider trying the restaurant.

“So good it is dangerous.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

A piece of Paris amongst the oysters and clams and greenheads. So many great breads and pastries there is always a line out the door. Go early and get the farmer's bread to go with your homemade chowder or bouillibaisse.
