“A Local Favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

You're at the beach, specifically Ocean Beach in San Diego, enjoying the surf, the sun, and maybe the sand, when your stomach starts growling and you know it's time for lunch. Well, locate the O.B. Pier, walk down a short block to the corner of Niagara and Bacon, and you'll find Poma's Italian Deli. Order what you like from the menu board, grab a bag of chips and a soda, and you'll be set for the remainder of the afternoon. The food is great, service is fast, and prices are very reasonable. There's nothing better than a Poma's torpedo sandwich while sitting in the warm sand and contemplating a dip in the ocean.

“A Real Italian Deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

A small shop in Ocean Beach, just a short walk from the pier. The sandwiches are made from scratch when you order them. They make their own meatballs, sauce and roast their own beef. You cannot compare this shop to Subweewee. There is a well trained, cordial staff that will do all in their power to satisfy your sandwich/pizza desires.
Nick Poma, the owner, is the friendliest guy around.
Try this place eveif you have to go out of your way and drive around the block a couple of times looking for a place to park. It will be more than worth the effort!

“They nailed it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2012

The bread is righteous. Someone got the bread right finally. Big torpedos of love. We had a sausage sammie and a cold cut sammie.

“A Local's Favorite Ocean Beach Sandwich Stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

As a native San Diegan, I have to say this is one of my favorite little hole-in-the-wall places to eat. It is located in Ocean Beach, one of the best beach communities in San Diego. My husband and I have been coming here for years. It's a tiny little place with some plastic chairs and tables, but the food is soooo delicious! Parking is on the street. We usually order a roast beef sandwich and share it. The best roast beef sandwich in town for sure! It's just down the street form the pier/beach, so you can grab some tasty food and take it with you if you like and have a little picnic or sit on a bench and watch the surfers and fishers off of the pier. They always have friendly service and the typical easygoing atmosphere you'll find in OB.
