On a recent visit to San Diego with another couple we stayed at The Dana. It was perfect for what we needed (a place to sleep and a jumping off point). It was comfortable and clean with good service.
From the beginning we were put at ease by a professional, nice, and informative front desk attendant. The outdoor areas were very well kept with palm tree gardens. The room was off an outdoor hallway and was a quaint, no frills room that was clean. Perfect for what we needed, a comfortable jumping off point.
The basic amenities were available, a microwave, mini-fridge, and a keurig coffee machine. Out of the room there were two heated pools and two restaurants.
Although not from the area, the hotel seemed very convenient to many of the San Diego beach neighborhoods. It was also right down the street from Sea World.
We ate only one meal, breakfast, but were impressed. The food came out fast and was well prepared and plated. It was at least a star above what we expected from a hotel restaurant.
Overall, we were happy with our service, room, and amenities. In the same situation we would definitely go back. I recommend this for someone needing a place to stay or a jumping off point.
