We stayed here the weekend after Labor Day and the following week. The front desk staff was very helpful. The cost of the room was not low but worth the cost for the nice room and excellent location. Mission Bay is just South of Pacific Beach, which has plenth of restaurants. P.B. also has local drug and grocery stores. Mission Valley shopping and the San Diego Zoo are short drives from the property. Sea World is on the same island/pennisula as The Dana. Breakfast is convenient at The Blue Pearl, a short walk along the Marina. The cost is fairly reasonable and the food is passable. The Firefly Restaurant has limited menu and is a little pricey. But it is convenient and has good food. Would recommend for lunch and dinner.

The Dana is in a great location and perfect for families with small children. Their online description does NOT go into great detail about how walkable it is to Sea World, Belmont Park, the Beach and many other restaurants. The onsite restaurant Blue Pearl has the absolute BEST guacamole and the staff is super friendly!

Upon arrival, we had a minor issue with our reservation but Janelle really went above and beyond to rectify the problem. While we were waiting in the lobby for our room, we were able to sip on some complimentary refreshing strawberry lemonade. Our shuttle driver, Don provided a wealth of helpful information about nearby attractions. All staff was courteous and very accommodating during our entire stay.

All in all it was a wonderful stay and I definitely recommend it as THE ONLY place to stay on a visit to Sea World!!!!

We stayed at the Dana to visit relatives with our grandchildren. It is a beautiful property that gives you the feeling that you are in the Hawaiian Islands. The staff was wondergul from check-in to the last day there.
Don drove us in the shuttle and he was really kind to our grandchildren.
We also enjoyed the Black Pearl restaurant. Food and service was great.
Th kids loved the pool and hot tub. The staff at check in made sure we were close to the pool so it was easy to get to.
We give the hotel, staff and restaurant a strong 10 on a scale of 1 - 10. Thanks so much for everything and we will be back.

First off great location on Mission Bay within walking distance to SeaWorld. Great check-in staff, explained all the amenities (two pool areas, two on site dining options, recreational rental equipment) etc. Enjoyed "happy hr" at the Firefly lounge and later had a great meal with attentive staff. I was provided comp breakfast at the Blue Pearl, very fresh and tasty with excellent service. I rented a bike (also rent kayak, paddle boats) and cycled along the many paths around the bay and along the Mission Beach boardwalk. My room was a little older, but very comfortable. A nice touch was the Keurig coffee machine. The room also had a small private patio with a gate to the pool/spa area for quick access in/out of the hot tub. The night before departing I was able to print my boarding passes for my flight and arrange for a shuttle to the airport for only $10! I had a great stay and recommend the Dana on Mission Bay.
