Dear Thomas,
I apologize if our bathrooms did not meet your expectations. However, we have remodeled the bathrooms in almost every guest room. Our lobby and pool were remodeled at the same time. The pool and deck are both new and the hotel guests are pleased with the outcome.
PLease visit us again, when you are in San Diego.

Best,
Brenda

We booked this room the day before we were leaving. I am always scared to book rooms online because websites and pictures can be tricky. Let me just say the front desk staff was awesome and the cleaning staff was excellent and timely. We booked this room on bookit.com for $65 a night, $35 cheaper than anybody else and $45 cheaper than the hotel reservation desk. We are kind of hotel snobs, my wife especially, we have not stayed at an outside door hotel since New Kids on the Block was popular. Anyway we were trying to squeeze in a vacation on the cheap thanks to an unexpected root canal that drained our vacation fund. We were shockingly surprised at how clean the room was, plus we got an upgrade to a suite for FREE and we did not even ask. Now understand it is an older remodeled hotel and it is not perfect but the room and bedding were very clean. For the price you cannot beat it. The location felt safe even though the area did not. They have a 24 hour security guard that was constantly walking around. The pool was nice but crowded and I found it a little funny that the pool was next to the restaurant. I felt like people were watching us like we were fish in an aquarium but no big deal. The parking spaces are small but I did not see it to be that big of a deal either. Even the couch bed was super clean. My one negative is they have the A/C rigged to cut-off while you are gone but it is California so not to bad of a problem. I will end with this, my wife said she would stay here again even if we could afford nicer accomadations. That my friend is amazing. Hope your stay is as good as ours was.

This place was awesome! It was very comfortable and was in the perfect location for the Valley View Casino across the way. My stay here was an absolute delight.

We enjoyed our stay and loved the location- it's only a few minutes to Mission Beach and a short drive to everything else. Easy access to the highway without any highway noise, close to lots of dining options (Phil's across the street has excellent barbeque and a great price...get takeout and enjoy by the pool!) Dupar's next door has great coffee and the pancakes are awesome! But watch out and don't over order or you will be spending $70 on breakfast for 3 and taking half of it home! We got a killer deal on Bookit.com and the room was exactly what we expected. It was clean and comfortable and had a fridge and microwave which came in handy for the leftover pricey breakfast! The beds are super firm...think a tiny bit softer than plywood and the carpet could use replacing. 2 tiny complaints about the room: It would be nice to have a chair in addition to the pull out sofa and the crazy light on the motion detector comes on randomly through out the night. Bring some duct tape to put over the sensor if that sort of thing annoys you! Also, it was great having 2 tvs but the remote from the living room also worked on the tv in the bedroom, so when ever my son changed channels on his tv, ours changed too! While housekeeping did a great job tidying up each day and promptly brought us clean towels when we called for them, it would have been better if our towels had been replaced without the daily call to the front desk. As others have pointed out, the parking spaces are tight, but there are plenty of them so we never had a problem getting near the room. The elevator worked perfectly, as did the ice machine. The pool was clean and hot tub hot. Don't depend on the business center if you need to access the internet and print documents. There were several guests trying to get the 2 outdated desktops to work and the front desk clerk had neither the time nor inclination to help. I was going to buy tickets to the USS Midway from Costco and print them out but ended up having to pay full price at the gate. (actually there is a booklet that had $2 off coupon/ticket, but I didn't discover that until after the fact) The hotel felt safe and secure. If you miss the sharp left turn where Sports Arena jogs and end up having to go straight through that wacky intersection (the road changes to Midway) don't panic. The hotel is just as easily accessed from Midway.

Room Tip: We had a jr suite in Building B on the 3rd floor. You get a great view of the SeaWorld fireworks an...
