“Lindsay B was great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014 via mobile

We got married in June and, Lindsay made us feel like royalty when we booked our wedding and, when we hit a snag on the week of our wedding. Beth was amazing but, no one told us there was turnover and we had no communication for a month. We had specified an allergy I (the bride) have and made it clear to both Beth and the new event coordinator and somehow, there was still an issue with this the day of the wedding. Again, Lindsay saved the day by coming to see me and really made me feel special on my wedding day. The Bahia itself (hotel reservations) did not treat my guests the right way, overcharging them if they indicated they were with our wedding and, in spite of contacting management this was not remedied. It was an up and down experience but the wedding ended up beautiful and the good was great!

We visited the hotel to see the Carnaval on a Thursday evening. We were greeted with big smiles and a warm welcome. There was lots of excitement, with animals that were brought in from the Wild Animal Park nearby, an outstanding selection of tasty, authentic Brazilian food, and a spectacular show of music, dance, drumming, and acrobatics. Our kids had the opportunity to dance on stage with the performers and enjoyed that greatly. The performers definitely made it fun to watch. It was a super evening for our family that we'd highly recommend to both locals and out of towners.

My husband and I got married at the Bahia 5 years ago. We loved every second of it. So we decided to go back on our 5th anniversary this year. We had a great time walking around, enjoying the views and walking through the ballroom we celebrated in. The staff there are exceptional and always willing to go out o their way to make their guests happy. Thank you for making our memories there a special one!

Thank you to all Bahia staff for the excellent service received by our guests this past May. It was the second time we have been to the Bahia with this group, and appreciate the dependable service and care that each individual guest receives. The food is excellent and we love the atmosphere, location, and cleanliness of all rooms, meeting space and of course the beach. A special thanks to Jennifer Gale and Monique Sullivan for their personal responsiveness to each of our requests. It is a pleasure working with you.

We've been coming to Mission for 20 years. The Bahia is a marvel to behold. The best kept secret for families vacationing in SD. We paid $197 for a clean A/C'd 2 bed room at a resort property that's on the bay and a 3 minute walk to the greatest beach with crazy big waves with an amusement park with an old time roller coaster, with affordable easy restaurants around. Just an old time fun beach community that gets admittedly sketchy on weekends. Locals come in etc. It ain't Del Mar, but your kids will never ever get bored. So much to do. Oh, Bahia, so they have a large pool with a 10ft deep section and a kiddy section. Movies at the pool at night time, closes at 11:00. You can see SeaWorld fireworks every night from the resort beach on the bay. Kids love to swim in the pool after a long day at the beach. Drinks and food at the pool. Very good restaurant. Nice quiet morning breakfast with buffet. Pot of coffee on the table. A rescue sea lion at a large sanctuary. She's blind and precious and loved by Bahia management. Crazy large clean pond for a large family of ducks with babies. Literally, Momma ducks walking with their babies all over the resort. Adorable. Tennis, shuffleboard, rent bikes, canoes. Don't need to drive anywhere. I can go on. For the price, it's the best family summer vacation in San Diego. The kids will be on overload and sleep at night. We then went on the booze cruise. Riverboat type around the bay. Crazy. Love Bahia and it gets better every year.

The Bahia has been around and still has charm. We had a nice stay. The service at the restaurant was great and the Mediterranean buffet was great. Eat too much. Rented a boat one day and the kids had a blast tubing. Room had a kitchen so we cooked breakfast. Close to Sea World too. Worth ever penny.

Our room was big and spacious with a good lounge area and bathroom. However, the bed was tiny. Our room was especially dark as most of the lights did not work, when we called for maintenance they never came. The location was good for beaches and belmont park, although it's difficult to get to town or any large shops if you do not have a car. The hotel does have a pet seal though that is very cute!
Overall, an average hotel.
