“WIsh I could go back in time and have never stayed!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2007

We stayed the night for a local event and ended having our car broken into and the stereo stolen.
In the morning we were told "Oh yeah, there have been a lot of break-in's lately." Nice to be told ahead of time!!
The room was just OK for the price, but definetely wouldn't stay again.

Length of stay: 2 days
Very noisy, being right next to one of the busiest parts of the San Diego freeway. Even with the window shut you will hear the constant buzz of traffic. Doors and trim in desperate need of paint to cover marks and scratched in graffiti.

I found the general staff to be friendly. However, I can’t say the same for the current manager. Any expression of dissatisfaction was met with an unsympathetic, stonewall posture and a complaint #. One call to this # so far, during normal business hours, produced only a pre-recorded message and the option to “leave a message or call back during normal business hours.”

Boiler repairs being done on the roof, diesel crane noise, etc. No hot water for more than 24 hours, when promised 8 hours or less (still not working when I checked out.) Room renovations on the first floor. Considering they have been going on for some time now, it would have been nice to have been informed of the room renovations when I made reservations, in person, the week before. A sign on the counter would be a good start.

All things considered, I would not recommend this place at all.

I was very impressed by the hotel. It was actually much nicer than we had anticipated. From check-in to check-out the staff was very friendly. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The rate was very reasonable for San Diego and even included breakfast in the morning. It is a few miles from the San Diego attractions but it was very conveniently located a few feet from the Trolley line that connects you to most areas of the city. Next fall we will definitely stay at this hotel again. A Great Bargain!

We stayed 2 nights here, its just a place to stay, nothing more or less. You will need a car and dont leave anything valuable in it.

The place was crawling with young marines half of which were entertaining the local girls. The other half were entertaining the local boys.

This hotel was disgusting. Me and my brother checked out immediately after checking in because the beds were infested with bed bugs or mites. Thre were also some larger bugs in the room and it was not very clean. I would highly recommend choosing another place.

The Super 8 Mission Valley was not somewhere I would recommend staying. The lobby was clean and nice, but my room was another story. I noticed the bed was a bit lop-sided, so I looked to find the bed frame was broken. That wasn't the creepy part. The box spring and mattress was full of dried blood and other very dark stains that did not show any attempt of being cleaned off.
The hotel does not provide you with wash clothes, you need to go to the front desk to get them if you want them. I would suggest bringing your own washclothes anyway, as I am uncertain of the hygene practices of the hotel.

For $55.00 a night it was O.K. The rooms were small but clean. It was kind of hard to find but all in all it was fine
