“great mac & cheese, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

had the mac and cheese as an app and it was soooo good! also had the soup and too sweet in my opinion, so i was a little dissapointed.had the boeuf bourginon and it was very good(not amazing)- dessert was profiteroles and they were AMAZING- i couldve eaten like 50 of those little things! Service is excellent atmosphere is great and super romantic. I would recommend and return, but it is very expensive so be aware!

my tip: go when you can get the bohemian menu! it makes it a much better value, also remember wine prices are by 1/2 and 1/4 litter(so prices arent quite as bad when you remember that)

still- with two 1/4 wine orders, appetizer of mac and cheese, and two boho pre fixe menu choices our meal was still 98(before tip).

“Oooo la-la, C'est Magnifique!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

In a word, "wow." Love martinis and good wine? Love beautiful, romantic settings? Love ambiance? How about great food? Terrific waitstaff who pace the meal nicely? Creative dining? Then Bleu Boheme is for you. I went with 3 others and we all ordered martinis and mussels. I had the basil martini which was amazing and the provencial mussels with a fabulous sauce. Oh, and did someone say dessert? Chocolate mousse? We all left feeling happy and satisfied.

“Evolving Menu brings a touch of Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

When we recently took friends from Washington, DC, to Bleu Boheme, we could not have had a more enjoyable evening. From ice-cold martinis to scrumptious desserts, all of us enjoyed every appetizer and entree. Ken Irvine continues to evolve and enhance the menu, and old favorites have been replaced with new favorites. Other than one spot in Paris, and two in Brussels, no one does a better job with 'moules' -- try the Mussels au Champignon with wild mushrooms, bacon, shallots and white wine -- bodacious! A new favorite was the Fletan (halibut) Oscar, sautéed with crabmeat, thin asparagus, a tomato garnish with baby yellow Yukon potatoes and a very delicate Bernaise sauce. If you like the parts; you'll love the whole entree. And, as always, very personable staff and great service. Enjoy!

“Oh la la: Amazing French feast in a romantic setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Hands down the best dinner (start to finish) I've had in at least six months, if not more. Highly recommend Bleu Boheme for special occasions, or just for dessert and drinks, either will be worth your while.

To start, we each had a specialty martini off of the cocktail list (Basil and French martini) and the cheese plate. Both martinis had just the right amount of booze and mixers. The cheese plate had a very unique variety of cheeses, some of which I'd never had (which is a rarity, given that I'm from the Dairy State), but the fresh honey comb and fig were the absolute perfect compliment to any of the cheeses.

For our entrees we shared the Boeuf Bourguignon and the Fletan Oscar. I've been to countless French restaurants (here and in France), and Bleu Boheme's Bourguignon was probably the best I've ever had. Likewise, the Oscar (halibut) was so delectably prepared it tasted almost like lobster. Just to die for.

While we probably did not have adequate "room for dessert," we ordered the Gateau au Chocolat (flour-less chocolate cake) and the Glace au Chocolat Blanc (white chocolate ice cream with a fresh berry and strawberry confiture) anyways. Wow, just WOW. While either of the desserts was amazing on its own, when you combine them it is what I like to call a mouth orgasm.

If only there was a Bleu Boheme in DC my life would be complete . . . (my waistline, though, tends to disagree).

“Loud & Loud”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Our party of 10 had reservations for New Year's Eve at the Bleu Boheme. The restaurant did a nice job of creating a seating in a square formation as we had requested. The intent of having this kind of seating arrangement was that it would allow us to talk with all members of our party whereas seating us all in a row would not facilitate that kind of conversation. I give them credit for that, but here is the problem. It is so noisy in the restaurant and the acoustics are so bad that we actually had to yell just to speak to the person seating next to us. This fact alone made the whole evening of dining out with friends a bust! At one point in the evening they even began playing background music, this only added to the din and even the staff realized this and turned in off. The food was fine (limited New Year's Menu) , somewhat overpriced for what you got and decidedly not worth a repeat visit with that noise level. The service was very good and I don't blame the wait staff for the lack of ambiance. This restaurant needs to decide if it wants to be an upscale French restaurant with food and prices to match or a noisy bar/hook up place with food and prices to match. We were very, very disappointed.
