“Ok if you need something close to the airport”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Stayed just one night. If your staying to visit san diego there are better options downtown. This place is across from the airport with not much close by. Lobby is very nice but hotel rooms are a bit old. Resturants are pricey but unless your driving nothing else around to choose. Definitly not quiet with airport next to it. The biggest complaint was water pressure it was horrible. I would stay here again but not for what they ask for a night

Dear VegasTraveler80,

Thank you for your review and recent stay. We understand the complications travelers face when planning a vacation and we are deeply sorry our hotel was not what you originally expected.

We never want a guest to depart from our hotel with worries that there San Diego experience was lack-luster and we apologies if these are the memories you took back with you.

Thank you, again, for your review and we hope for another opportunity to host you in the near future.

Warm Regards,

A group of friends rode our bikes from Las Vegas to San Diego. Pulling into the Sheraton Hotel and Marina after a long hot ride we were pleased to see a cool tranquil place to rest our tired bones. The available shuttle was a great way to get around the town. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although it took a while for the room to cool off after we check in due to the housekeeping staff shutting them off after every guest departs but that just gave us an excuse head to the pool for awhile. The employees were very helpful and always greeted us with a smile and ask how they could be of service. The only problem I had was the water pressure in the room, it wasn't great, it did the job but could have been a lot better. Overall though I would not hesitate to stay here again.

my experience at this hotel was overall verygood. This was a business trip so i did not reall get to enjoy the really nice pool area. I had a balcony overlooking the pool and the marina wich was excellant. i would strongly reccomend that if you go you insist on a balcony with Marina view.

The service was generally good. Everyone was upbeat and friendly. There was an incedent where i needed a new room key. i did not have my wallet so no ID but i had a large meeting ID badge on. they made me go to the room and wait for security. after a long wait security came and just opened the door...no request for ID?

The meeting facilities were good. The banquet food was disapointing. Both quality and selection.
The service at the Tapitina bar and the bar by the pool was exceptional.

This hotel is very close to the airport the wrong room and you will be staring at it. it is also far from downtown. there is an exceptional bus that will run you back and forth to town and atractions for 3 dollars per day...highly recommend this.

Verg efficient airport shuttle service as well.

Room Tip: i think a combination of pool marina view above the 6th floor is your best bet.

My husband and I always book this hotel when we visit San Diego...and always stay in the bay tower. It has the best views! Two of the nights we were there fireworks were set off in the bay with the Coronado bridge and all the lit up, colorful high rises in the back ground. What a beautiful sight! Rooms are very nice and we love that it has a balcony, too. I've always been very impressed by this hotel, but this last visit we had a few problems. There was no fridge in the room....we had to ask for one to be brought up. They've replaced it with a full stocked small vendor/mini bar which of course you have to pay for if you remove anything. Also, there was no water pressure in the shower and mold in different places in the tub. I was surprised, being what a nice hotel it is. I told someone at the front desk after the first night and he said he would have it taken care of it. We were there 3 nights and no one ever came to the room to fix the problems. I would think they would be more on top of things, but apparently someone didn't get the message. Overall though, it's worth the stay. Look for deals to get a lower price though like we do, because it can be pricey!

Room Tip: Always ask for the Bay tower!

We have stayed at this hotel several times because it has a beautiful location on the water and great views. Also centrally located to downtown San Diego so easy access to all of the sections. The rooms are spacious and there is a beautiful pool.

Room Tip: Harbor side rooms are quieter than the other side with some road noise

This hotel is really two properties that are separated by about a 7-10 minute walk. First and foremost, if you are not in the main (Marina) tower, get ready to do some walking. I was stuck in the Bay Tower and had to hoof it over to the Marina Tower for my conference which was fine, but you have to build in that extra time for every trip over. The services at the Bay tower are also not as good. Room service breakfast was supposed to start at 6 AM, but nobody was answering the phone even after 6:30 AM. I then went down to the dining room at 6:30 AM for a wickedly overpriced buffet and was given a wonderful glass of spoiled skim milk. Not much of an apology, nothing comped. Bad service choice. There also isn't much by way of restaurants in the area, so you should definitely get a car if you are staying here (but don't forget the $22/day for parking.) Housekeeping was really slow. They kept servicing my room later and later, and by the last day it was 4PM before they got to my room. Add to all of this that my room faced the airport, and this place was not worth the money. The prices seem reasonable, until you start getting nickle and dimed, and then add in the fact that it is difficult to walk to anything since you are essentially on a small islet. I only stayed here because of a conference, but I would honestly stay at another location if I had to do it all over again.

Room Tip: Stay away from Bay tower.

I caught the room on sale. I stayed one night in the Marina tower and found the room to be very nice. The view from the balcony of the harbor and the airport were nice. I found the people to be very friendly but the prices to be high. I did not touch the mini bar but did go to the gift shop for soda. The prices were a little on the high side.
