After reading a bunch of the reviews I had some low expectations going in but at the end I can say that I enjoyed my stay here. The lobby was clean and the front desk staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. My room was on the 16th floor facing the freeway. It is quite loud if you open the balcony door but if you keep it closed it shouldn't be a problem.
The hotel is in a good location. Just a few blocks from Little Italy, 20 minute walk to the Convention Center and Gaslamp Quarter also within walking distance to public transit to get to the Zoo and other attractions.
My only complaints were:
- Parking garage is terrible - the ramp is so narrow. Use extreme caution.
- The wifi was very slow and flaky in our room.
- The housekeeping service was very weird and never the same. I stayed for 7 nights and the towels we got varied from 2 to 5 towels. Some days we weren't given a floor mat. Another day they took away the plastic liner from our shower curtain. We received two water bottles on the third night but never received any after that. Some nights we had 3 pillows on our bed, others we had 5. Nothing serious to complain about but just odd.
Overall, I had a good stay and would return/recommend this place again.
