Stayed for one night while in town for a Chargers game. Clean, quiet, free parking. Free wi-fi and breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Across the street from Old Town, as well as the trolley. In 15 minutes you can be at the Gas Lamp or Qualcomm. Definitely would stay again!

Just returned from a 5 day stay at the Old Town Inn in San Diego. In my opinion, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Unlike many of the chain motels on Hotel Circle, there was no charge to park your car. The motel was very clean, freiendly, and conviently located to the Trolley, the city buses, and the Coaster. I read another review that was critical of the area. We made the short walk (5 minutes) to the Old Town transportation depot across the street without any worries. As for crossing the "busy" Pacific Highway, there are traffic lights and crosswalks.
We enjoyed the free breakfast each mornig which is served from 6am thru 10am. It consisted of coffee (also provided in the lobby 24 hrs) OJ, toast, bagels, 3 types of cereal, boiled eggs, waffles, oatmeal, fresh fruit, muffins, and danish. Something for just about everyone. Add free use of a computer and printer in the lobby plus free Wi-Fi in the rooms and there isn't much lacking. Decemer is a cool month so we didn't use the pool but it was available if you wished.
The location made it an easy drive to Cabrillo National monument, downtown to the Gaslamp and Seaport Village, or a quick access to I-5 to go north to La Jolla and points north or to I-5 south to get to the zoo or Coronado.
This facility is a real bargain and I look forward to staying there again when I visit San Diego.

I chose this placed based on the trip advisor ratings and was very pleased. The room was very large with 2 queen beds. We stayed in the newer building. Everything was very clean, and it was nice having the kitchenette to heat up leftovers from our yummy dinner at Pomodoro (a different review!) The breakfast was very nice with waffles, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit as well as tropical fruit salad, bagels and cream cheese. Coffee and juices were there as well. What I liked was you could eat on real dishes with real silverware instead of paper. Nice! The Inn is located in a light industrial area, 8 minute drive (3 miles) to Sea World and within walking distance to Old Town and many restaurants, with many more available at a short drive. The only negative I had was tight parking. The staff was wonderful and there is a good selection of DVDs to borrow. If you're in San Diego, especially for Sea World, I would stay here again!

We stayed 3 nights after Thanksgiving. We think it is one of the top places we have stayed. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was wonderful. The location could not be better. We were able to walk over to Old Town safely and easily. We were close to every place a tourist would want to go. Would stay here again. Thanks Old Town Inn.
