“Last minute cheap hotel for SD area”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

After travelling five weeks around the States - this stay was cheap, easy and no fuss. We spent all our time away and only slept there, so 2 nights was ok for the area. The pool area was decent and large with a good hot tub! Also we found it quiet and private so sleeping was not a problem.

We booked this hotel because its the host hotel for a tournament.
I arrived and check in at 6pm.
Once I open the room , I have no word for how horrible this place is.
The bedsheet have stains, holes, filthy carpet, bathroom not clean and water stay .
The smell is so horrible.
We try to find other hotel near by unfortunate it's very expensive last minute and some even sold out due to is the weekend.
We checked out the next morning at 6 am since we could not even sleep at all. Blankets, pillows and sheet all we throw down the floor and sleep with our clothes on.
$100 we paid for living like a bump
This place have to be inspector and tear down for the sake of travelers .
It is the worst hotel we ever stay even worst than motel in the 3 rd world country .
Save your time , avoid this place.
Disgusting and horrible. Next door is a courtyard and it's like heaven and hell which this resort is.

I had to leave the hotel the first night because the room was filthy and unsafe for my family. A window wouldn't lock, hair on the pillows, toilet paper on the sheets, food left in refrigerator, food and dirt on floors, drapes and curtains were torn and not functional, huge dirt smears on walls, smelled like a sweaty mens locker room, cobwebs in corners, safe was broken, etc........this hotel was one of the worst I've ever seen. I notified the hotel desk of the problems and nothing was done except the window had been messed with but, not fixed. The hotel had the attitude of 'oh well.' We had to leave the hotel late in the evening and go to a much more expensive hotel where my family could be safe and not sleep in filth.

Room Tip: Call the hotel and see what kind of responses you get before booking.........it will probably give y...

Where do I begin? I always considered horribly negative reviews as over-reactive, but now I know better. This has to be one of THE WORST hotels in San Diego without question. DO NOT stay here. This place is beaten, run-down, smelly, horrible, loud, filthy, disgusting, and I have slept better IN MY CAR. The pillows are about 2" thick (and they ‘ran out’ of extra pillows). We did not have enough towels, and the "new" towels they brought HAD HAIR IN THEM!! The room had bugs, there was decaying food on the floors, and the bathroom was FILTHY. (See pictures, included). Then, drunken, loud, smoking (even though we were in "non-smoking" area) idiots kept us up ALL NIGHT cursing & talking outside our room despite several calls to front desk to have them stop. We left the next morning, and got a refund for our entire 3-day stay. I know that negative reviews like this seem extreme as you read them, but trust me…NEVER, EVER, EVER STAY AT THIS DISGUSTING, REVOLTING, HORRIBLE PLACE. Even as a last resort!! You’ll be better off sleeping in your car in a Wal-Mart parking lot that this horrific “resort”. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!

Room Tip: No rooms here are habitable, and will most likely cause you to itch for days, and require frequent b...

Between the broken phone, the broken clock, the TV with 10 channels, half of which didn't work, was the most frustrating. Not even HBO! Who doesn't have HBO anymore? When I asked to have things fixed I was told, "Its like this all over the hotel." As though that would make it acceptable. It didn't.

Booked this trip in June. Got to the hotel smelled in the lobby. Should have been my first clue. Got to the room again smelled like someone urinated on the carpet, curtains torn, top of air conditioning unit busted, and bathtub had nasty stuff in the bottom of it with a broken stopper. I want to know where they took pictures of those rooms! Immediately checked out! Go to the Best Western instead!

If you are traveling low budget this can be an option. You pay less than in some B&B or hostels, you have average comfort. It is not overcrowded and you can get a relaxing time. It has a fitness center, with several options. The location is easy to reach if you have a car, you can be everywhere in the San Diego area in few minutes time.
