“Nice hotel for business traveler”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This is a nice hotel in the heart of a business district, with great meeting rooms and beautiful pool area. It has typical Marriott amenities--nice breakfast area, cozy bar, comfortable beds and small extras like cold, fruit-infused water in the lobby. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I thought the room décor was pretty bland for a Marriott, but it was comfortable. Onsite parking was $18 per day, but very conveniently located for self parking. Of course, they also have valet parking. If you are traveling with a partner, most rooms are set up for one person--even rooms with king size bed have one chair, and a very small dressing area with one sink. My room on the 9th floor had a nice view of the pool. Unfortunately, I couldn't sleep with the door open to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather, because of the street noise. Even late at night there was a lot of noisy truck and motorcycle traffic.

Room Tip: Noisy location due to nearby freeways and busy streets. I don't know about rooms not facing the...

What a peaceful, relaxing getaway! This hotel is a great value for the money. Our special thanks to Manager Kristen and her awesome staff in the restaurant/lounge, especially Jorge, Liza and James M. You made it very special for us - we will see you again!

Room Tip: We chose a toom at the end of the corridor - it was very peaceful.

We booked this hotel purely based on location. We were watching a chargers game at qualcomm stadium and being unfamiliar with the area wanted to ensure we could a) get to the game and b) speedily get home at the end of the night. It worked well for these reasons. We got the trolley to the stadium and walked the 30 mins home at the end of the night as the queue for the trolley was too long. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Now for the niggles - there was no free wifi in the room and the supposedly free wifi in the communal areas failed to work on both apple and android devices. The safe in the room did not work and as we were heading out as soon as we checked in could not get the issue resolved. There was no free water in the room - the unchilled bottles laid out had an unreasonable price tag on them and the bar was also extortionate - over twenty dollars for a pint and a half pint. We realise the latter two points are a given for many pricey hotels but feel that the price tag for the room should have covered free wifi and parking. I would stay again if watching a chargers game but would do so begrudgingly.

Stayed here over a long weekend with family while visiting SD. Awesome hotel - everything was great e.g. the staff, rooms, service, and breakfast in restaurant (lounge was closed). As a Plat, got upgraded. Location: convenient to freeways so easy to drive around SD - was prob better than the downtown hotels in this regard. Would def stay here again.

Our family of four recently spent 3 nights on our 10 day vacation to Southern California. The other 7 were spent in Newport Beach. This hotel is in a perfect and quiet location. Any of the local sights were a 10 minute drive away. I was worried about not being in downtown but this actually worked out great. We did not use public transportation and drove everywhere without a problem. We were hoping our family of four could fit comfortably into one room. Rooms do not allow rollaways and now that our children are older we can no longer fit into a two bedded room. I called the hotel and luckily found this out before we left. Let me just say that the hotel staff/management went above and beyond to get us a second room. We were very comfortable and it helped to start our vacation off to a great start. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had an issue I had to take care from one of their computers and I really am not so good with figuring stuff out on computers. One staff member (I wish I could remember his name) totally helped me out in getting what I needed done. I am so grateful! The hotel is clean and updated. Beds were comfy, fridge actually kept things cold. We used the pool briefly and wish we had more time to spend at it. Very clean. This is a business hotel but had a resort feel. The rooms are on the smaller side but adequate for a family of 3 (four if your children are younger). Valet staff were always courteous offering directions and bottled water. Lastly, the concierge room offered a great breakfast. Egg, bacon and sausage as well as the standard continental breakfast food. They close promptly at 9:00 which is a little early if you are not traveling for business. Most are open until 10:00. I hope to get back to the San Diego area (loved it there!) I would certainly stay here again.

This was a really nice hotel. It was very clean and and staff were all very friendly. We needed a room with two beds but when we arrived all they had was their hospitality suite with a queen. We received a roll away bed and made it work. The location is perfect. Right by the trolley pick up to downtown and only 5 miles to the airport. What a true gem.

Nicely located hotel, within a 15 minute walk of public transportation to all of the city. Great court yard services and very friendly hotel staff. nice pool and hot tub - good sun exposure. Noise level on the weekend was low.
