“Great Hotel attached to Convention Center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

This hotel boasts roomy quarters, an excellent pool and fitness center, and nice restaurants. Located across the tracks from the Gaslamp District, great food and drink are right nearby. ask for a bayside room to minimize the train noise. The train can be used to transit to San Ysidro and the Mexican border city of Tijuana

Room Tip: Ask for bayside room, even if a bit more expensive, to avoid train noise streetside.

We had a great time. Rooms are clean and spacious. Pool is great. close to shops and restaurants. only downside is a little noisy on the street side due to train whistles and bells. had to more rooms as the Bay side is much quieter.

Room Tip: choose the bay side for a quieter stay

This is a very nice Marriott with a beautiful pool area and access to the convention center. The rooms are very nice and the hotel is spotless. The one downside is that there are train tracks right across the street. If you get a city view room you WILL hear trains and crossings all night. I had to have my room changed and they were very accommodating in moving my room.
The staff is great and works to meet any need you may have. The pool bar has a great selection of tequila and is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon or evening around the fire pits.
They have a nice, but expensive, breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a marina view, otherwise the trains will keep you up all night

My husband and I went there for our first year anniversary with 2 other couples and it was an amazing time.
You drive up and from the first moment are made to feel welcome, the staff is over the top helpful and friendly. We didn't get as high up a room as requested but the room was spectacular none the less. Beautiful view, clean and comfortable.
Went to one of the hotel restaurants for lunch and the service there was again friendly, fast and the food was great! Pool was fun, firepits were a welcome bonus as the night became a bit chilly after being in the pool.
The concierge was extremely helpful with local ideas for dinner etc. and upon return we had champagne and strawberries in our room as a very unexpected and welcome treat.
We would return to this hotel without hesitation, perfect location, great staff and great hotel!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for high up on the marina side so you can see the Coronado bridge, boats and pool action.

We spent a night here with 3 small children and stayed on the concierge floor. We loved it. Particularly the pool area (multiple unique pools, founatins, etc...) It is honestly one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. the gym is also impressive.

We returned to the Marriott for the first time in 15 years and very much enjoyed our stay. They have updated and kept the hotel very nicely. It was a bit crowded at the pool, but everything else was great. I was surprised at the decline at Sea Port Village and the mall up the street. Both places have gone downhill and are very dated. There are some great restaurants around though. I will definitely be returning.

One night stay before an early morning flight after a whirlwind stay in so cal. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more competent. We were able to check in three hours early with no extra charge. They gave us the biggest room since we were three adults. Hertz rental car lets you return your rental right at the valet and then you just need to get a cab to the airport for $15. That way you don't need to park in the hotel lot.

The hotel is right on the marina with breathtaking views. Nice restaurants outside to enjoy the sunset and breeze. It is in walking distance to gas lamp district.
