“Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

I'm at the hotel right now for a conference and I doubt I'll stay here the next time I travel to San Diego. I asked for a quiet room as I am a light sleeper. I travel with a sleep sound machine to block out noise. The trains across the street run all night and are loud!!! This morning I was awakened at 2:45 am, as I was the other nights/mornings. The renovation work has also been very loud, and the letter left for me two nights ago saying I'd have no water from 10am-2pm was...amazing. Housekeeping forgot to pick up towels on the floor and coffee maker grounds. Concierge has been great, but doesn't make up for the total experience that is lacking.

Very nice Hyatt. Great amenities, and the updated rooms are well done. Great location and easy access to the waterfront for shops or a nice place to jog. Water views are excellent. I stay at many Hyatt properties around the country, and this is one of the better ones. I would recommend, especially for business.

Stayed here while husband was at convention here. Make sure to ask for an ocean view. We overlooked the aircraft carrier during ship week and was pleasantly surprised by all the fireworks my kids watched before bed. The hotel was clean but huge since it is a convention Mecca. It is very easy to get around with the train stop just across the street and ferry a few blocks away. My 4&5 year olds had a blast trying out all the modes of transportation. With so much to do in San Diego we really didn't spend much time there but did appreciate its convinent location

It is really important to know that one section of the hotel is outdated and the other is renovated with a contemporary style. We were staying for two nights due to an error ( from our part) our reservation was canceled and they were sold out on non smoking rooms. To say the least it was a horrible night. the room was old and of course the smell made it worst. The next day, the staff from the hotel were able to move us to non smoking /renovated rooms and upgrade us. The entire staff was really nice and very attentive. The breakfast buffet had variety of foods and it was tasty. The location is perfect. Really close to the convention center, gaslamp, San Diego Bay,etc. If you decide to book this hotel please make sure you request the newer section of the hotel otherwise you are very likely to be unhappy.

Room Tip: Pick the renovated rooms

We really enjoyed our two nights at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and that included multiple outside attendants, bell staff, and front desk staff. Our room was great and had everything we needed including a safe and refrigerator. Only suggestion I can make is that wireless internet should be included rather than a separate charge.

This is an amazing hotel. We were on a business trip from 9/28 to 10/3 and had the best time. We stayed in the Harbor Tower on the 21st floor. We had views of the harbor and could clearly see the USS Midway. The room was newly renovated; it was modern and beautiful. The hotel is next door to Seaport Village; just walk out the back door and you are there. And walking distance to the light rail, Gaslamp District, Petco Park, convention center, USS Midway, and the ferry to Coronado. There is an adult-only pool on the 3rd floor at the Spa with beautiful views of the harbor. Check in/out process was easy, and the concierge was helpful. We didn't eat at any of the hotel restaurants. We chose to eat at the Gaslamp District.

Room Tip: 21st floor in the Harbor Tower, rooms 2124 - 2138 have a view of the harbor and the USS Midway.

I stayed here for business. I like the 24 hour fitness center and pool 6 AM -10 PM. The service is great and friendly. It is a short walk to the gas lamp section and to the convention center. I hear their breakfast buffet is great, but I didn't try it out.
