Visited SD for the first time with friends and decided to stay here. Room rate was good for us and I LOVE the free parking at the bottom of the hill. The restaurants were good options (the melting pot-never ate there). The room is a good size and bathroom is roomy but lacks the basic necessities at check in which are found in other comparable hotels (e.g. bath robes; slippers; shower gel; face soap). Unfortunately you have to call into the hotel operator for these items but they are quick to deliver. I actually like that the soaps are fragrance free because if you have an allergy, is a non irritating option and if you don't have an allergy, then is still good. The t.v. is very dated and unfortunately there is a delay from when you press the channel button and the TV actually computing this. Also the "guide" didn't work on our TV and so it was painful to see what was on. But overall, we didn't come to SD to watch TV so no big deal. The toilet paper holder was irritating as it was not fixed properly and the paper kept falling off the rack. Hopefully this is remedied for the next guest(s). I recommend a room higher up with a pool view, fabulous! Staff were VERY friendly and willing to assist with a smile. Large pool with lanes and hot tub. Michaels bar is a nice idea after restaurant eating but in my opinion, the drinks are pricey. Love the outside patio with firepit! The walls in the rooms are thin; you can hear the neighbours but in a large hotel this is somewhat expected. If you are looking for more privacy, a corner suite may be more suitable. Hotel is located within short distance of the mall and beaches. Overall I recommend it. Happy travels!
