“GREAT LOCATION”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

The hotel is in a great location. I highly recommend a bay view room. The view is stunning and beautiful to wake up to.

Very, very disappointing. The location of this hotel next to the bay is the ONLY highlight--and there plenty of other hotels with even better bayside views. Our room was in the South Tower, a separate smaller tower that requires a long walk through sprinklers and that feels like they only use it on busy weekends. Exhibit one: walking into cobwebs across the bathroom door. Exhibit two: stains in the toilet, apparently from water just sitting there unused; we opted not to even use the shower, and my wife walked around in her heels for fear of picking up something on her feet. (Full disclosure: I went barefoot, and I'm fine.)

Speaking of the toilet, it needed a little DIY maintenance to stop flushing, and it still "burped" every twenty minutes or so all night.

The inside door handle was broken and pointed down. A plastic outlet cover was broken in half, exposing the wiring. One lamp didn't work. The carpet was stained. The bed was uncomfortable. The room smelled musty. And the "view" was of a brick wall.

All that for $200 a night.

Oh--but they did have these nifty sensor pods connected to the bed lamps with a dated photo of a woman's painted fingernails. I assume they were touch sensors for the lamps; they just didn't work.

Thank you for sharing your comments. We extend our sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations. Our hotel has very recently changed over from a Holiday Inn; therefore we are in the process of making several changes, up to and including a very aggressive renovation this year, at which time all of our guest rooms will be renovated to a much more modern look to represent the hotel we are. We hope you will visit us again so that you may enjoy a fresh, nice and clean room, and allow us the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to you as a valued guest. Again, thank you for your comments.

I loved everything about this hotel except the lack of privacy in the bathroom. It had a sliding glass door. It's lovely but not practical

We recently spent 4 nights at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside hotel and the location is excellent. The hotel is situated right on the bay across from the Marine Museum and a short walk to the USS Midway Aircraft carrier. The Gaslamp district and Little Italy are also short walk from the hotel. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus to and from the airport, to a local shopping mall, the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. The rooms are large and have either a bay, pool or city view. It is a great hotel if you don't want to rent a car.

Room Tip: Higher floors in the hotel have a better view. Rooms are large and have floor to ceiling windows.
