“Holiday Bowl and SeaWorld”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2011

My daughter and I traveled to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl along with my Best Friend Mary and her daughter. We had joining rooms and check in was a breeze. I did have to call down to the front desk because the zipper cover on the couch was broken so when you seat down it showed the cushion inside. Kinda grossed me out. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The location can't be beat and the price was good. I would suggest that the morning breakfast room be cleaned up and cleared alittle faster. Lots of people and small space. The pop machine did eat my daughters money twice but she was too lazy to go to the front desk to report it. Loved have the refrig but you should think about putting a small microwave in each room...would be a great upgrade and cheap to do.

Got a fantastic deal for two nights here. Was very happy with the room. Updated and modern. Comfortable bed. Able to open the windows for fresh air. Great location-love staying on Hotel Circle because it's convenient to many attractions. Check-in was easy. Computers and printer in lobby were a lifesaver (do have to pay, but it's not too bad if you're not staying on it for a length of time)!! Lots of options for food nearby if you're able to drive and many delivery options late night/24hrs. Only negatives I can say were the lighting in the bathroom (extremely dark!), found a child's toy truck next to the bed (not sure how they missed this if they thoroughly cleaned the room?), and had to pay for parking but wasn't super expensive so I can overlook that. Overall, would definitely stay here again for the price paid.

We were just her for an overnight stay because my daughter had a cheer competition in SDSU and we had to be there so early. This place is kind of centrally located as far as San Diego attractions go. But just to warn you, you won't get any of those scenic SD views if you stay at this place, just a view of the freeway. But when you visit SD, you never want to waste too much time staying in your hotel anyway, with the great weather year round, you should be outside. Plus there are several high end hotels on the exact same street with the same views of the freeway.
At first I was skeptical after such a bad experience at the Ramada Carlsbad just a month ago where the pictures were so misleading. I even tried to change last minute to the Sheraton LaJolla since I saw several bad reviews but it was too late, so I hopes for the best. When we first drove up, I thought "not another Ramada"- the outside needed some updating. But when we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised how clean and updated it was, all the way up to our room which slept 6, 2 queens and a pull out couch. You could take this same room and put it within a Mariott or Hyatt that we've previously stayed in. When we stayed at the Ramada by the sea just several miles from here for the same price. What a nightmare! It was so gross and dirty and stinky. This place is a hundred times better. The pictures didn't lie this time. I would highly recommend this to my friends and stay here again for the price.

Stayed at this hotel, along with a group of out of town guest, for our daughter's October wedding. After reading several negative reviews we were alittle apprehensive about our stay however we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff at the desk and were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of our rooms. Whenever any of our party had a problem it was taken care of in a very efficient manner. The complimentary breakfast offered waffles, bagels, pastries, cereals, fruit, juices etc. More than enough to start your day! The housekeeping staff were friendly and kept the beds made and the towels plentyful. Wherever you went in the hotel, down a hall, pool, laundry area, reception area everything was neat and clean. Sea World, the Zoo, the mall, Target, and a ton of resturants are only minutes away. This hotel is located at the very end of the street and there is some road construction going on that you have to manuever around to get to the hotel but we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 4 nights while on trip to San Diego arriving on a wet Thursday. Check in was quick & rate was good at $89 plus tax for the 4 nights. Car parking however was $6.95 a night which seems to be the norm in Hotel Circle now, it was free when I was last here in 2005, where else do you park ?

I seem to have booked an accessible/disabled room which was huge and at the end of the building but the front desk was easily able to change it to a normal room with a tub, not a problem. New room on the 4th floor was clean, good sized. Fridge & coffee maker , wardrobe & drawers, I believe it has been refurbished as all the furniture & decor seemed new. The a/c had a slight odour but nothing too bad. Bed was big & firm & slept very well on it.

Breakfast which is included & free is just your pastries & cereal & fruit ( not too many bananas) & beverages . There are also waffle makers which seems like a good idea but the lines can sometimes be long for them. They seem to close the breakfast room at 9.30 sharp so don't oversleep if you want the breakfast.

Next time I think I will stay down town or Bayside as it is just a little too far from downtown & if you miss the freeway exits for the hotel, it is no fun !!!

Do try & eat at Top of the Market near the USS MIdway for a fancy fish meal or go for a happy hour meal after 9 at the Currant Brasserie & Bar in the Sofia Hotel on Broadway, great cocktail barman & fab onion soup for $3.75.

We stayed at Comfort Inn & Suites Zoo/SeaWorld Area for 5 nights with our young children while in the area vacationing in March 2010. There was a bit of a mix-up with the room at first. We booked a family room that had a separate room with pull-out couch; however what they put us in at first was a room that wasn't the "family" room....instead, it just had 2 double beds. It was pretty crowded and we really wanted the set-up with the separate room for the kids, so we pushed on it and asked to be moved which they did the next day. The switch was somewhat confusing, as there were people that were still in the room that we got moved into and I think they were a bit surprised by our presence. In any case, eventually it was all worked out and we were settled in the family room.

The room set-up was adequate and the kids enjoyed having their own separate space. Rooms were clean. Hotel was conveniently located to many area attractions. All in all, a pretty good value.

The breakfast room was crowded and busy and the set-up could have been more efficient to move people through, but it was a great amenity to have to start the day.

We only used the pool/hot tub a couple times; they were fine.
