This hotel turned out to be much better than I expected, because of the 2 star rating. IMO, it ought to have 3 stars. We had a marina suite for 3 nights which was comfortable and a quiet. The room was clean; the view was tropical. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast or snacks. Our teen complained that the sofa bed was noisy and needed updating. But that was our only room complaint.

The pool was well positioned to receive the sun all afternoon, but had plenty of shade spots if desired. It was heated and the hot tub was pure heaven. Both were very clean.

The restaurant had a good selection and the quality of food was very good.

The location was good - close enough to the attractions (with a car), but separate enough to be peaceful.

One of the best features of this hotel was the staff. Everyone was smiling, knowledgeable and responsive.

I would stay at this hotel again.

We went here for Spring Break from WA state. The hotel was great, it was not a huge room, but very comfortable and CLEAN! What we liked best about this hotel is that it was very quiet and you had an amazing view of the harbor. We drove to "hotel circle" and we were so happy that we did not stay there because it was surrounded by freeway and no view. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It is a great deal and close to everything. We loved it!

Very nice hotel.
The rooms are a little small but the beds are very comfy.
Huge bathroom with a large walk in shower.

We just stayed at the Island Palms for two nights. It was our third visit. We were a bit more disappointed then our previous visits. The first night we went to the pool in the evening and it was freezing. So we decided to ask them to turn up the heat. We went to get a towel and there were no towels at the pool. We went to call the front desk and the house phone by the pool didn’t work (good thing it wasn’t an emergency). So my husband had to walk to the room (without a towel) to call the front desk to request towels and the pool to be heated (and he told them the phone wasn’t working at the pool). They assured us the pool would be heated by the next day. The next day we left to go to lunch, we arrived back to the room around 12:30 and the maid had not come yet. So we headed to the (hopefully warm) pool, which was still COLD. At this point we were a little perturbed. For the second time I asked the nice gentlemen (seemed like a manager) if he would PLEASE heat the pool. He assured me it was at 85 degrees, until he felt it for himself. It was maybe 70 degrees. After swimming in the cold pool we headed back to our room around 2:30 and the maid had just started cleaning!! So we let the kids play in the grass outside our room. You know those cute ducks around the property? Well those cute ducks wandering around the property have to poop somewhere…. Yep on the grass. So our kids had duck poop on the bottom of their shoes… yuck!
We have experienced a more pleasurable time in the past, but we will be back. We also really like Humphrey’s Inn two hotels down, I would venture to say I like Humphrey’s better. Both are nice places. Humphrey’s seems more tropical to me with a much larger (warmer) pool.

We stayed at the Palms for one night. The staff was extremely helpful and the restaurant waitress was very helpful and friendly too.
It was quiet, however, some 20-somethings had a loud party in one of the rooms and my husband went outside and politely told them to quiet it down which they did.
The room was fine with one big exception: THe fitted Sheet on the bed was too big for the matress and so it did not fit properly. When we lowered the sheets and blanket before we went to sleep, the whole bed came apart and it became worse and worse throughout the night. This was also a problem in the previous Best Western we stayed at. Their fitted sheets don't match the size of the mattress.
Otherwise, the marina was lovely - the restaurant food was ok, the place was clean and it looked much better than most of the run of the mill Best Westerns on the main roads.
