“Good Location, Good Value,Good Rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

stayed here for the second time. Hotel Breakfast better than many hotels. Pool area very nice, also hot tub. Rooms are clean, spacious enough w/refrig and microwave. Comfortable beds, a big plus for me.

If value is more important than luxury we have consistently found that the Best Western brand throughout the world truly delivers. Our experience has been that Best Western hotels offer very good service, comfort, and security, leaving us free to enjoy the surrounding sites. We prefer to be close to all the action rather than right in the middle of it. A short walk or commute on public transport or in rental car gets us everywhere we want to be.

Best Western Bayside Inn, San Diego, not only met my needs and expectations but gave me great pleasure in a brief weekend trip. My 8th floor room had a splendid view of the city and harbor. Everything everywhere was clean and spotless. It is centrally located and I can walk to my favorite restaurant and those of nearby Little Italy. Great stay!

Great hotel in the perfect location for exploring San Diego without a car. Five minutes to Little Italy, Santa Fe transit Centre, the harbour etc and 15 minutes walk to Seaport Village and the USS Midway. Petco Park a 20 minute journey, Sea World and Balboa Park both 30 minutes by public transport, saved a fortune on car hire and parking fees and did our bit for the environment - $15 for four day public transport pass was superb value. The hotel is very nice, breakfast covers the essentials, not spectacular, but certainly adequate and well stocked. Room was very comfortable - 14th floor overlooking the bay was stunning particularly with the tall ships arriving for Labor Day weekend. Can't fault anything about the hotel. We used the pool every day, cold because it is in a shaded area, but nice after a day in the sun and always had the hot tub to jump into. Microwave and fridge were helpful for coping with the copious leftovers from Little Italy restaurants. Great stay in a great city.

Stayed for 6 nights here in August. Location is great - a few minutes walk to the Bay, Santa Fe Terminal for transit options, Little Italy, Hortons Plaza etc.
Room was clean and the views from the Balcony were great. The Breakfast was an added incentive !!!

Room Tip: Request higher floors for a Bay View

The hotel was average, rates considerably high for the area, breakfast in the morning was very good, but had to walk out to facility next door, the hrs. were inconsistent with weekday & wknds. The hotel parking very inconvenient with getting to rooms, no access to hotel from parking garage, had to walk down 4 flights of stairs to get to hotel entrance. Needs much improvement for convenience to guests. The $14 p/night parking fee was also a surprise, which was never explained making reservations, or while checking in. Only after checking out, was it explained.

This is a very value added hotel in a great location in San Diego. This hotel provides parking for an additional $14.00 per night. The location is great because it is one block from Little Italy where there are many very nice restaurants and three blocks from the Bay. We ate at Anthony's several times on the Bay three block from the hotel. The only disappointment was that the pool is very SMALL and doesn't get any sun. The buffet breakfast was terrific every day and on Thursday evening's they offer a two hour window of beer/wine and appetizers. All in all it was a great value.
