We had seen the reviews and awards for The Star of India and were looking forward to eating there. We were very disappointed. Maybe the fact that the place was empty at 6.00 pm midweek should have been some sort of warning to us! One onion bhaiji starter was merely a handful of onion strips deep fried in batter without any apparent spice addition. We then ordered two chicken based dishes which had just about the worst chicken quality we have ever had! Although the accompanying sauces was reasonable, the meat was basically scraps of grisly underbelly. We left almost most of both our meals and complained. We got some reduction from the bill, but had we more energy and will at the time, we would would have queried the whole bill really.
As curry lovers from the UK, we felt that the place would have gone bust within the month in our corner of the north of England, where we really know and love quality curry dishes. Aviod; seriously!
