“Great food, great service, great view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

My only issue is that it can get a little noisy which makes conversation a little difficult. Other than that it is an outstanding restaurant.

“Great anniversary dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

We had a great dinner here. There is a huge parking lot and self parking. We were welcomed graciously by the hostess. If you want a window side table you should probably request this in advance. We did not do so, but were still seated window side, but facing Harbor Island so the view was not as great at those seated facing the Coronado bridge and downtown. The server was extremely knowledgeable, gave opinions on his favorite (some people may not like this, but I find it engaging and social so do like it)

Husband had the filet mignon, with asparagus & crab (forgot what this is called) and thoroughly enjoyed it - finished the entire plate, which is not always something he can do. I had a white fish (cannot recall the name starts with a C), crusted with nuts and served with a yuzu drizzle. It was ok. Mussels appetizer came with a minimal amount of cream sauce, so not my favorite. We had the twice baked lobster potato which was HUGE! Easily could have been shared by a group of 4 or more.

High marks, we would definitely return.

“Great Bay views and restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

We've dined at Island Prime many times and reservations are a must. Dinner this time of year allows you to watch the sunset and illuminate the San Diego Skyline. The food is generally very good with a menu that has some fine speciality dishes and old standbys. The last time the "special" Halibut was over cooked, which was a shame, but the bread and salad were great. Service is good but it is a little pricey.

“Awesome view, good spot for happy hour or apps and drinks.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Awesome view of Bay/Coronado/San Diego skyline. I only come here for Happy Hour or apps and drinks. Service is OK. I've only eaten at C Level, the casual outdoor place. I've never eaten at Island Prime the reservations only sit down place, its all under one roof. This is part of a group of San Diego restaurants. To come here for a formal dinner would be pretty expensive, I like to keep it simple.

Enjoy the view outside with drinks and some smaller plates or happy hour is my recommendation.

“Very popular bay view restaurant with a fabulous menu.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

Even with reservations we had to wait about ten minutes and this was a week night, so plan ahead. The place was jammed around the seating station, but once seated we were very comfortable and well taken care of. The restaurant has a great view of the bay. The menu has extensive options ($$$) and it was difficult to make selections. I decided on the prime rib after seeing one at a nearby table. It was tender and delicious. I also ordered a bake potato ($9) side dish which was almost the size of a football....easily enough for two people. My sweetheart ordered the "Everything Crusted Albacore" with ginger & garlic black rice, charred asparagus and a tasty sauce. One very tasty albacore dish. We split the BLT wedge salad as an appetizer, and unfortunately did not have any room for dessert.
