“Top Notch Service, Top Notch Comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

This was my second time staying at the Andaz. I went back because I remembered being comfortable, the hotel being classy and in a perfect location. I arrived late, 10pm and was greeted quickly by the valet. I walked inside and I was greeted warmly and put in a great room. The bed was so comfortable, that I was deep asleep in a matter of minutes.

The amenties were top notch, the bathroom a great size with a large shower was just what I needed. This visit I did not use the pool but knew it was there and remembered it was great! I plan on staying back at the Andaz at the end of next month and look forward to some good shut-eye, walking the gas lamp district, and going for a late night swim. I have stayed at other San Diego Hotels like the W, Hyatt, Hilton, and Embassy Suites... this hotel ranks up with the W and above the others.

Andaz pulls of the botique type feeling with all the modern amenties business travelers are looking for. I woke up early the next day, my car was waiting, the free coffee was hot, and I was on my way after a great nights sleep.

Room Tip: Try to face South for better views.

This hotel is beautiful and at a great location. The wine bar and rooftop lounge/club are a great time. Make no mistake... this hotel would not be good for children on the weekends as it is right in down town and if the outside noise doesn't keep you up, the roof top club will. But for a great adult weekend or girls only weekend, this is the spot to be!! The wait staff was great as always and the hotel is adorable and boutique style. We had a great time.

Room Tip: There is a rooftop club on the weekends so I suggest staying on a mid floor.

I wanted to take my girlfriend to a great place, this had it all, location, facility, an amazing staff, lots of plusses, including a stunning rooftop bar and exclusive access to one of the coolest clubs purely based on being a guest. It is 2 blocks from a very lively 5th street, and offers the best of SD at your doorstep. I will return again!

Room Tip: the base room was gorgeous, although a little small

The Andaz Hotel is located in the heart of the Gaslight district in downtown San Diego, and it is in walking distance of great restaurants and other area attractions. The roof top lounge is amazing with city views and dancing lights from the fire pit, and the roof top pool makes another interesting gathering spot. It attracts young singles who are looking to hook up before the week-end. The Wine bar, just off the lobby, is another unique spot to test your tastes from a whole wall of wines on tap. The rooms are remodeled with sleek glass wall baths, and they very unexpected departure from the norm.

Very unique property with lots of "little perks"! The Wine Bar with 88 wines on tap is amazing! The bar, pool and the restaurant on the roof are very cool with great views and good food. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for something more boutique in the downtown San Diego area!

Room Tip: Pay the $9 for the upgrade!

Cool spot to hang out. Rooftop pool with bar and food. Everybody knows your name and the check-in and check-out process is painless.

Room Tip: pay the extra upcharge for a Loft room. It's well worth it!
