This is one of my favorite places to visit in San Diego. It's not your typical tourist destination. Thousands of white crosses on a windswept hill overlooking the ocean--it's very moving, especially at sunset.

“Beautiful Vistas”

This is a gorgeous cemetery and shouldn't be missed if in the area. Unfortunately the Cabrillo national monument was closed due to the government shut-down - shame on the gvmnt! Driving on both sides of the cemetery was the next best way to see the harbor and ocean. The symmetry of the graves is awe inspiring.

Go for the view, it's astounding, can see right down onto the sub base below. Sunset is the time to be up there. The cemetery is beautiful.

“A great drive”

Do the drive through La Jolla, Pacific Beach and then down through Ocean Beach through this cemetery - on the way to the Point Loma lighthouse. So much history here in this short area

“Looks a lot like Arlington”

We had our picnic lunch with the dead in this beautiful place on top of a hill overlooking the water and San Diego. There's no activity but it's a nice place to visit. I wondered how many people are interred there. It's on both sides of the road and very large.
