“Great Hotel- Close to everything you could want”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2010

This hotel was a great deal. Cheapest place we found with decent reviews. The room was great- the best of the Day's brand we have stayed in. So close to all the freeways going to nearby towns for dinner was super easy. Great transportation to Sea World and San Diego Zoo.
Only downside is the fact that you do hear a lot of noise from the freeway. Didn't affect our stay. Also, if you aren't a fan of wild children running loose around the hotel - pick a different place - this one is popular with families

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the Days Hotel - Hotel Circle by SeaWorld. It's spring break this week so I know there are alot of people running around. We are a favorite spot for families because we are so close to SeaWorld and we offer a complimentary shuttle to the major attractions in San Diego.
We hope to see you again the next time you are in San Diego!

Thanks to other reviews we stayed at the Days Hotel Circle. I wanted to be able to walk to Kelly's Rest. & Irish Pub - Town and Country Resort for the St Patrick's Day music. (the piano bar is fun!) We stayed in the newly remodeled business area. We are budget travelers and found this a fair comparision to the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle!

We appreciate your review of the Days Hotel - Hotel Circle by SeaWorld. Our hotel is easy access to the Town and Country Convention Center and Kelly's Restaurant. I have heard great things about Kelly's but haven't been there myself. The Bella Tosca Spa is also at the Town and Country and it is one of the best spas in San Diego. We send our guests there all of the time. The Fashion Valley Mall is also right behind the Town and Country and is also within easy walking distance of our hotel. There is a trolley station at the mall that will take you all over San Diego if you do not want to drive your own car.
Thank you again for your review. We hope to see you again soon.

We stayed here because it was halfway between the Zoo and Seaworld. Picked this hotel because of the positive reviews on here and they were right! We came from a cheap Super 8 by Disneyland and walking into our room at the Day's was like night and day with our former room. Very clean and nice room. Felt very comfortable the whole stay and the boy's loved the pool. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay to visit the sights in San Diego.

My husband & I just completed a 7-night stay at this property. The service of the staff and the cleanliness of this Days Hotel went far beyond my expectations. I am a neat freak (aka "germophobe") about hotel rooms and I must say that our room exceeded my expectations. Without a doubt, housekeeping definitely maintained our room in a manner you would expect at a super-expensive luxury hotel. The bedding and linens appeared new, they were bright white, crisp and fresh. The bathroom was immaculate and our kitchenette area was highly maintained. Given this hotel's location (within 10-15 mins. to all major attractions) and our experience here, I, confidently, can tell you that I will never stay anywhere else when visiting San Diego! Thank you Days Hotel!!

LOVED the price, cannot be beat, and NO parking fee. I saved a lot of money staying here, but not sure I would stay again. The pillows (all 8 of them!) were so hard, I had a neck ache, and I like firm pillows. I requested softer pillows, but the ones delivered were the same as the ones we had. Room is decent, especially for the price, but a bit cheaply renovated. Someone had told me to request the Business section as those rooms are nices, which is where we were.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the Days Hotel - Hotel Circle by SeaWorld. I apologize that your stay was anything less than satisfying.
You are not the only guest who has commented on how hard the pillows are. Some guests like a firm pillow but most guests feel the same way you do. We have already tested and ordered the softest pillows I could find. We will have a selection of both soft and firm pillows in all of our guest rooms in a few short weeks.
Thank you for sharing your comments with us. It is through comments from our guests that we are able to respond and make any necessary changes at the hotel. We take every comment very seriously.

Thank you again,

We chose this because of wifi and free shuttle and good amenity promises and because we were not familiar with San Diego geography. They were prompt at picking up at the airport but shuttles to tourist sights are very restricted and limited. The free wifi is good if your room is close to the office but it's a huge complex and we had to have our room moved.
The only good point in Pam Pam's cafe which has better fish tacos then most places in Mexico.

Also, there are plenty of reasonably priced hotels in better locations. Hotel circle is near nothing but hotels, malls and the freeway and not easy access to public transit.

I was very disappointed with this hotel, and reluctantly recommend it. I booked the upgraded, business class room with two queen beds for our family of five (two adults and three kids ages 5-9). This room is in the hotel's newest remodeled building and is the only building that opens to an interior corridor. All the other buildings open to an outside corridor. This building is also closest to the pool area, and comes with covered parking. The business rooms include snacks which I thought would come in handy with three kids.

We did not get what we expected. First of all, the room was so small, there was no way a family of five could stay in this room. We were on top of each other the whole time. We always travel with an air mattress in case we run into situations like this, and it was good we had it. We had to rearrange furniture to fit the air mattress in. When I spoke to the front desk staff about the size of the room and how it was supposed to accomodate five people, she just apologized and offered to move us to a room with a kitchenette. This room was the same size so we did not switch. She said all their rooms were the same size. The kitchenette room, however, felt a LITTLE more roomy because the bathroom area was laid out differently and seemed to have more space, but the sleeping area was the same.

As for the snacks in the room, they were a joke. The snacks were an 8 oz. bottle of water, a granola bar, and a microwave bag of popcorn. For the extra amount I was paying per night for this "upgrade," I could go to the grocery store and buy a lot more snacks than what they provided.

As for the room, it was supposed to be newly renovated, but it did not look like it. The carpet was sticky in spots--you know the type of room where you end up putting all your used towels on the floor because you don't want to touch the floor with your bare feet. The bedding and mattress were fine, but the pillows were very uncomfortable. They were really thick and firm--not soft at all. It was better for me to sleep without a pillow, and this may be personal preference, but I did not sleep well for the two nights we stayed there. Everything in the room was older and did not look "renovated." The bathroom area was small as well. We were close to the pool which was nice. It was not noisy being closer to the pool which was a concern of mine. Bottom line, I would not pay the extra money to upgrade the room to the business class. It simply was not worth it. I told this to the front desk staff and they refunded the difference and just charged us the standard room rate. I was happy with this resolution. The staff at this hotel was very nice and accomodating.

The pool and hot tub were quite nice and enjoyable. The area was clean.

The restaurant, Pam Pam Cafe, was also nice, particularly the staff working there. We were always greeted with a smile and enthusiasm. The people seemed to enjoy what they were doing and it came through in their work attitude. The food was good too, typical diner fare.

One other nice thing about this hotel was that parking was included, but the spots are small and tight (this may be a California thing). The parking is outdoor unless you are in the business class room which has covered parking--again not worth the extra money. There appeared to be plenty of parking spaces available.

If you choose to stay at this hotel, don't pay extra for the business class room. If you have more than four in your party, you'll need two rooms in order to be comfortable. You might also want to bring your own pillow just in case, as well as a pair of slippers or flip flops to wear around the room.
