“Awesome stay. Very quiet Hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Loved this hotel, very comfy bed, the lobby, pool, & great breakfast every morning. Did NOT hear anybody while in our room. Very quiet & relaxing place to spend a family vacation. Close to several good restaurants & beaches.

I stayed here for two weeks on business and the staff were great, they took the time to really get to know their guest my name. The breakfast and evening meals were wonderful. Housekeeping did a awesome job making sure your room was up to par every morning. The location was about 25min from San Diego which made my morning commute a breeze. This is one property I would stay at again.

Thanks Nara and all the hotel staff for making my stay wonderful.

Good location but trying to find a place to eat that was children friendly after 9:00 pm because of late arrival was not a good experience for my family. Every place closed at 9pm that was kid friendly.

We have had a fantastic family vacation in the San Diego area. We stayed at the Homewood Suites and they made our experience even better. They rent boogie boards, umbrella's and chairs for a very reasonable rate. My kids loved boogie boarding and the muffins (my girls insisted I add this). The hotel staff was very helpful with suggesting beaches to go to and where to experience a great sunset. They went out of there way to purchase tickets for us. This made our trip much easier.

The breakfast and dinners where a favorite of the entire family. The staff was fun to visit with and made us feel welcome.

My family highly recommends staying at this hotel.

Relaxing environment , very family friendly, spacious rooms for an extended stay with cooking facilities. Breakfast was not great but standard for this type of accommodation. Parking was very good and not fees for parking which was another plus. Staff were helpful, however our broken sofa bed remained for the entire 8 day duration as the staff could not find a replacement, which really is not acceptable for a Hilton establishment.

We stayed here for a wedding trip for our son. We have a teenager, a preteen and a newborn baby. The king suite was large, and nicely laid out, for privacy from the other room. Downsides…one bathroom located only in bedroom. The full kitchen was nice to have, and the room was mostly clean. The carpet seemed a little worn, as well as the furniture. The big perk of this hotel is that they give a full included breakfast everyday, and dinner monday-thursday. We did not have a chance to eat dinner there, but it smelled good, as they grill and so forth. Breakfast is slightly better than average. There is continental, eggs, usually some kind of breakfast meat, and/or potatoes, and they have a waffle making station that is tasty. the area where you eat is large and clean. On the weekends, the lines were a bit long for breakfast towards closing. My only suggestion to them is to extend their breakfast hours an extra 30 mins till 10am on weekdays, at least during the high season.

The one really nice thing is that the staff are professional, nice, and quite helpful. The service we received at this place was very good.

Overall, a nice hotel to stay if you don't need anything outside the environment. Meaning, if you want a cute atmosphere to walk around, then this isn't it. If you need functional, just off the freeway access, then this is a good place. There were many, many families that stayed here too.

Room Tip: Rooms near the elevator or stairs are ideal, then you don't have to wait so long for it to come.

This seems to be our default hotel when we go to San Diego. We like the 1 room suite and the kitchen with a full size refrigerator. This trip was a beach / Sea world trip with 2 days at sea world and 3 at the beach. We use the Del Mar beach which is very close by and our favorite beach in the area that isn't too crowded even on the weekend.

The hotel was updated with furniture since our last stay and the rooms seemed just a little bit smaller. That may be due to several factors such as my kids are bigger and the furniture seemed a little bigger shaving off some space here and there but we were able to make it manage. The room was a 1 Bedroom King Suite and it had a fold out bed in the front room. The mattress in the fold out wasn't very good from what my kids told me and not very comfortable but I've never found any of them that are. The furniture I feel is too big for the space of the room. For instance the night stand on the side of the bed near the outside wall is tight up against the wall and traps the curtains between it and the wall. It's the same against the wall on the other side but no curtains to trap. The closet is a regular closet but half of it is hidden behind a wall for the bathroom so you need to reach back in. We brought some old wire hangars for all our close otherwise the 8 that were in there wouldn't cover 4 people for 7 days. There was enough dresser space for all of us and we did have to get rid of the desk chair as we had no place for it after opening the couch into a bed. The room slept well and even though we faced the parking lot there wasn't a lot of noise. They had us in an upstairs room and I wanted a ground floor room so thus the not preferred parking lot view but it worked just fine.

The best part of this trip were those people working the breakfast. My daughter is Gluten, dairy and yeast free due to allergies and this hotel went and bought a pancake mix (we forgot all the pancakes we made to bring on the trip). We brought the rice milk but forgot the pancakes so they made her some each day and then eventually made some so we could freeze them. It was just so nice of them. The main guy for most of our trip, Dave, was dairy free as well so he was talking to my wife about the dairy free chocolate chips we used and was just over accommodating for us. I couldn't have been happier with that part of the stay.

The only problems we had during the stay were getting enough towels when the room was serviced. They always left 3 towels even though there were 4 of us in the room. Now we were using multiple towels per person as in San Diego a towel doesn't dry in a day there, nothing does really. We would take a shower in the evening after getting back from the beach or Sea World and then the next morning they were like we had just dried off with them. So we were going through at least 2 towels per person per day as we didn't want to sleep dirty and the rest of my family has to shower in the morning to get going. So the hotel was always accommodating in bringing us more towels, it just would have been nicer had housekeeping at least brought us enough towels for those staying in the room but also honored our request for more towels so we didn't have to wait at 11pm at night for more towels to be brought to us. That was really the only issue we had with the hotel and the whole breakfast thing made up for that. I'm not sure if we'll stay here again next time we come as we'll most likely need two rooms but having a kitchen is a good selling point so it will just depend on their availability with two rooms together.

I'd recommend this hotel for individuals or families looking for a beach vacation. The staff is great and the rooms are nice if not small feeling due to the furniture.
